Guys I want to ask you whats keep you playing thsi game?
Because me with the almost perfect gear for my build, with lots of hours spend on same missions, killing same mobs.. have nothing left to do in this game.
To do same missions i did so many times (even fkng dailies are same missions as story line)? to run around DZ and kill same mobs we killed so many times? to go PVP which is total ********? Even crafting is most anoying thing i've ever seen.
Or should i wait for an update with any hope that it will change? hmmm dont think that even its possible to improve this pvp with that little drop areas for pvp without getting rouged.
Ussualy such MMOs keeps most of the players playing them cause of good pvp, but when u dont have it, you buy the game just for story line and thats it.
So at the end, i dont think its worth spending much more time in this game, while there are so many much more better ones. And I feel its not just me with same toughts. Half of my friend list people who are maxed out almost, started to play it just for few hours per week. Then i got maxed out and I dont have anything left to do here.
No hard feelings just toughts guys.
usually mmo's keep you busy since they offer every type of player substantial content to keep them busy in the first place. pvp players get pvp maps and gear, solo players can do dailies to buy pieces of gear and then do dailies to upgrade gear(these dailies have nothing to do with story) or they can run easy mode dungeons solo to get gear and money to buy gear off the auction house. players that want to run dungeons or raids can do so to get more gear and the crafters can go gather materials, craft their own gear, and sell others to make money and buy better gear. then when new content drops every type of player gets new content. pvp gets new maps and gear, solo players get new quests and gear, group players get new dungeons and raids as well as gear. crafters get new blueprints and materials to collect etc. there is world bosses where loot or currency gets dropped where every type of player can get involved.
the division is nothing like that, it is basically go into the darkzone pvp area, grind to 50, buy blueprints and then go back into pvp area and grind division tech, all the while hackers have teleported all around the map and opened all the division tech boxes, griefers are killing you the whole way. solo players are told you are not in the future plans of the game that was promised to be completely done solo if you want to, group players have the same ****ing challenges over and over again, incursions are going to be made for about 10% of the players, and group players are told PUG's will basically be useless.
yeah in the new update group players can run more challenges to get "some" of the new green gear but how many times are groups going to run the same thing over and over again before the gear is no longer worth it and people decide to leave?
Very few games can keep my attention more than a month and those that do have pretty good PVP. PVP works great to improve longevity because it is ultimately player created content. However I disagree that MMOs keep players mainly because of PVP. It is usually raids combined with "sweet" gear that keeps a large player base. Then you add in PVP and you get a healthier player base.
If you are bored and the new content doesn't excite you I would play something else. It is really hard to find entertainment that you can do non-stop for months on end because it almost always gets repetitive.
The ONLY reason im still playing , is i dont want to miss out on the daily Phoenix Credits.. After the 20mins it takes me to do the daily misions, i log out.. Ill maybe try the DZ, but if i see a rogue skull, or hacker, im done..
I dont really consider crafting to be "end game", nor do i enjoy it.. I dont do pvp, and bought this game because it was said to be an rpg.. Not a linear single campaign play through, with recylced missions for pve'ers..
So i guess, nothing is keeping me playing, and ive been considering uninstalling for the last week or so.. Shortly after hitting 30, it become clear there wasnt much lef for me.. That last patch was the nail in the coffin for my DZ time...Even though im hard headed, and still try to find value inthe game, by forcing mysdelf to play.. I find i spend more time on this forum, thanin game anymore..Hoping they fix it, to be as good as it could be..As it SHOULD be!
Im strictly an rpg payer.. I STILL play games that are years old, if they are good.. I tend to buy physical copies, and play them for years on end.. I even have all the original rpgs installed on this computer.. BG 1 & 2, IWD 1 & 2, Planescape, etc.. I even still have my Diablo 1, and 2 here..I will play a good game, for a LONG time.. But this.. This isnt an rpg, and its really paper thing, on the elements it claims to have.. They simply didnt build the game they set out too.. Be it Ubisoft intervention, or decisions to release it now, and fill in the rest later (or sell it, in this case).. Its just not enough of a base game, to warrant the cost..I got 1 campaign out of it, and feel theres no replay value here..Adding 1 Incursion, wont change a thing.. Heck, HALF of the things theyre implementing on the 12th are completely unnecessary.. Things like trading, gear score, death cameras?!? Really?!? A metric ton of basic, fundamental **** STILL doesnt even work in the BASE game!! Screw this.. Ubi/Massive.. Priorities man... Priorities!
i was kind of the same way until i found a guild in a mmo that had a really cool structure and it felt like i was a part of a community. i like crafting in games so i was one of the 3 or 4 crafters the guild had, the group had gatherers who would give the crafters materials, so basically every night after work i would come home grab something to eat and look in my mailbox with a couple of notes and a bunch of crafting materials and items that were needed and who to send them to. i would craft the gear with the materials and send them out. players would get better gear and eventually they would get into the dungeon runs/raids with the rest of the group and the high end raiders would save out gear i could use and send them back to me. it was a really cool set up and guild chat was always a lot of fun.Originally Posted by Uetur Go to original post
This isn't an MMO so that comparison isn't really apt. It's a loot based ARPG. One that didn't learn the lessons of the ones that came before it. Even recent ones like Destiny or Diablo 3. When a game is based on loot the lure of loot is what keeps people playing as this loot allows for different builds and, hopefully, a way to progress through tougher and tougher content. And people tend to like getting loot from actually playing the game, not crafting everything or running around opening boxes.
people like getting actual new content, not just running the same story missions over and over again.Originally Posted by thecapeo Go to original post
They have huge swaths of content. They just don't use it. After 30 the entire map should have turned into progressively harder and harder open world areas where the enemies actually dropped usable loot. That alone would keep people occupied for quite a while for them to develop raids and expansions.Originally Posted by Brandon1886 Go to original post
