Yeah the concept of trading by just dropping loot upon the ground died out 10+ years ago... I really should be done by player to player exchanges, were both sides can see the items being exchanged and there is no fear of someone being cheated.

How hard would it have been to create a peer to peer trade system? I watched The Division Special Report and took notes. At no time did he say you have to confirm the person you want to give the items to.
What Nas said was wrong, but if you want to trade with a specific person and keep others from getting the loot, then just group up only with the person you want to trade with.

my guess is that the crate will open after the named boss got killed.
actually i fear that there will be many people waiting how others engage the npcs and
engage the other players as soon most npc's are dead.

    but we will see.

edit: People are not worried that the wrong person picks it up. They are worried that if they want to exchange gear between two players one of the two could pick up the gear and not drop the item he agreed to trade before.
i apologize for the post sounding hostile, it gets old hearing all the young en's talk like they know whats up when they have no clue (not speaking about you, but some of the other posts) also i must apologize for paraphrasing, i should have not reworded anything. what i specifically heard was the interviewer asked what happens if the wrong person picks something up, someone you didnt want to have it (regardless if its a bff or a random), he asked if the item is then just gone forever and the devs replied, "no your still safe"and i believe i heard him say "you can just drop it again", and im pretty sure i thought one of them said you can leave the current group and group with just the guy u want to have it and then do the trade.

OP says trading is FAIL already, it literally has not happened yet, it cant be a fail before it even happens lmao. IMO it sounds like a great thing, group up with your buddies, and share drops and help gear each other other up for incursions. RNG will never stop granting people doubles and triples of drops youve already gotten, while a good friend is there saying "i cant get that gun to drop for me no matter what i do" now you can give your 3rd dropped midas or whatever to a friend in need and be bad asses together.

U didn't reply to what you quoted sir lol.

I've never played Diablo so I wouldn't know. But I do love the trade system in Elder Scrolls Online.

Who's being cheated? It's time limited items that can only be traded with the other members in your group within 2 hours. The idea is if you don't want the item, you can drop it for your teammate that needs it. It's not like you're planning massive trades or anything. I don't even know how one would be able to scam with this.

It's not like that. Read what I wrote above this. It's not like you can hold off on some awesome gear to trade for something better. You can only trade with people IN YOUR OWN GROUP and within 2 hours of picking it up. I don't know what you mean by "U didn't reply to what you quoted".

When items can only be traded with 3 other people ONLY, and ONLY if that item you want to trade was dropped when THEY were grouped with you and within 2 hours of picking it up, there's no need for a trade window. The consept is basically "Meh, this gear is not good for me" "Oh, can I have it then? I really need that particular item to be better geared" "Oh sure!" *Drops item and everyone is happy*

Agreed...when I read that yesterday it made me think of Runescape.
Drop trading is a really bad choice and makes me think this was an afterthought.
They should have made a mutual trade window like in Guild Wars 2 etc where each side has to agree and confirm.
Also a communal clan type shared storage would have been nice but that could come later I suppose.

Be careful who you trust when it come to in-game training (this is a universal truth on all mmo & mmo-ish games)

If they create a trade system Identical to Star Wars the Old Republic it would help alot (not saying it would completely fix the issue but, it would be a good place to start)
