So many issues, so short on fixes!

ANYONE GOT IDEAS?!?!!? I'm at the point of asking for a refund if I can't get the game playable.

I purchased The Division a week or so ago, and have been trying to figure out the source of gameplay issues. Issues range from sound mixing issues, textures and objects absent from the game, odd load times after death or fast traveling, enemies not appearing on screen yet their actions are still present, and even the game crashing on me when i make changes to the graphics settings via the in game UI. The problems persist no matter what graphic settings I have, whether Low or High.

I am in love with the game and have tried to grind thru the issues to see if it's bugs. I have downloaded the latest drivers for my PC and tried uninstalling/reinstalling the game and verifying game files thru Steam. None of it has seemed to work. Tried rolling back my NVIDIA drivers, didnt help any.I have kept tabs on my CPU/GPU temps and thermal throttling, and neither come close to tapping out while playing to cause a slow down or degrade of performance.

I will list my PC specs as well as a short YouTube video I made of gameplay referencing these problems. I hope with your help I can get a solution to my issues so I can enjoy the game how it is intended.

Ive had only a few issues that stopped me from playing but they were all solvable without ubisoft support or devs having to do anything. Ofc. i have bugs that are in the game too but so far after 100 hours they have not stopped me from being able to play and enjoy the game.

You forget to mention your OS. Windows 10?

    PS.
Only replying since we seem to have pretty similar speced systems.

Really taking a guess here , but can you adjust your Windows Virtual memory and take it from auto and set it to manual ( and just set a value between 12GB and 16gb value on it , max=min )

OR since you have 12Gb If you want you can disable it just for testing ( remember to enable again !! don't leave it OFF unless you really want to !! )

After reboot with the new Virtual memory settings , if the game still crashes , set it all back to automatic.

Really taking a very wild guess here , so if it doesn't work , just ignore and set it back to were it was.

Info on were to change Swap/virtual memory size : http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...#1TC=windows-7

edit: I'm sorry , since I'm kinda using you as a test subject for this , but I would prefeer a person that knows their own pc to test this. So you can revert the settings back if they have no effect.

The reason why I'm guessing this is some users with virtual memory set to "system managed" give reports with large Virtual memory (page file) being used , at first I though it was windows just derping on how to set a decent Swap memory size , now I wonder if it's related to the game.

I'm kinda expecting it to fail and not solve your "long loading models" issues , so sorry for wasting your time in advance.

Thanks for giving this info , and for testing the fix , at least op knows it's not a fix and wont lose time with it.

I hope someone can find the cause of this :/

I know you said the problem does persist even on lower graphic setting, and according to Ubisoft you meet the minimum settings just not the recommended. With that aside, it seems (from the video) that it isn't "glitching" so to speak but taking crazy abnormal time to load. Here is a couple things I might suggest to help possibly narrow down your problem

Do all testing at the minimum graphic setting for everything. So that once its working for these settings you can slowly raise them up

Monitor each core of your CPU to see if for some reason its not utilizing it as it should.

Try running it in different full-screen modes (windowed, full-screen, borderless windowed)...I tend to run games in borderless windowed as I use multi monitors and switch a lot, but it also seems to require more power.

If you have multi monitor setup look at your usage as the problems are present, if not using multi monitor maybe find something that can show the information in an overlay

The last suggestion is because I have seen some games (haven't tested this one) that once you Alt+Tab from the game it stops using a large amount of resources due to it becoming a "background application"

If I didn't make something clear or if someone sees something I over looked please correct me,

I retested a 10min run on all LOW settings. It appeared to start out well with smooth play, but then issues popped up. I grabbed a Phone Recording, as i walked away towards my next way-point, the recording kept coming in and out, like it was trying to load it and kept cutting in and out. atmosphere sounds were dropping out periodically. I got pissed and quit.

If i have more time tonight I'll make another run at it, and maybe change my audio output device in game, and see if that changes things. Why would the audio degrade??

It could be because you are trying to load multiple things at once. the audio and map data for example and its too much to load at once.

Another thing I might suggest is to try and install it onto a different HDD as I see you have it on an SSD, I know SSD is suppose to reduce load time but it is possible its defective or its starting to go bad. Just another trouble shooting tip

I think your CPU is below min spec for the game, which is an i5-2400, you have an i7-920 that's an old CPU.

You can see some benchmark comparisons on this page.
