There was an error processing the key you entered. Please double check the key, then try again (in-game)
I purchased Rocksmith 2014 on Steam previously, but asked for a refund.
This time around, however, I finally got to play with it, but whenever I try adding the CD key provided by Steam to the game, it just says that "there was an error processing the key you entered. Please double check the key, then try again".
I looked up on Google, contacted Ubisoft's support, but nothing seems to work.
Is there any guidance on this issue I can get to the login screen and I have activated the CDKey over Uplay it seemed to work fine there but soon as I get to the login screen It sais I have to put in my uplay details then add the key key.
I have direct copied it changed spaces, removed hyphens, done lower caps the works but still no dice ?
Cant see why this is happening even if it has been authenticated over my uplay account, any help would be suffice instead of waiting weeks for support to get back to me...
Cheers

upon going into the game it sais login with your UPLAY details then enter the cdkey as directed, im copying the key exact as there is a copy key clipboard and still its not working,
I have contacted steam and UBI but there taking way too long to get back to me
You are using the keys you get by right clicking on the game in your Steam library and viewing keys? (or something like that, I am not at home)
I've seen this pop up a few times, but never heard how people solved it.
I don't remember ever having to enter those keys, but it was long ago when I installed the game.
Like I said, I would contact Steam support as well as ubisoft support. The link to ubisoft support is in my sig, and you can open a question there.
rcole_sooner, after buying Rocksmith 2014 from Steam you have to activate it in UPlay too, with a seperate key (provided by Steam). I think what auslandserss is trying to say is, that his second key (for UPlay) gets rejected by Rocksmith 2014 (with the built-in UPlay client).
Anyway, contacting both Steam and Ubisoft support is the best way to go here. Either the UPlay key Steam provided is in fact invalid, or UPlay can't process it correctly (maybe because he had the game in the past but got a refund).

I periodically format my HD or change OS etc. In this case I updated to Win 10. Reinstalled Steam, RS14 and. Enter my email, PW and CD Key and get an error message that states
"There was an error processing the key you entered. Please double check the key, try again."
Ultimately RS14 tells me I have to login to access online features. OMG.... I'd love to if only the UBI validation process worked. It's a nightmare.
Anyone ever find a solution for this?
