I love Far Cry as a series. The thing I like most about Far Cry is the shear randomness of mayhem. Getting into trouble and getting back out. Far Cry 3 did that best and for me, has been the best Far Cry of the entire series. That is where Primal misses the boat. You have to manage resources, scavenge a lot, you don't have a real go-to weapon to dig yourself out of trouble and so on. It is, to me, a poor mash up of a survival game and Far Cry. Personally, I don't like survival games, they are too much like work. Also for the first time a Far Cry game bored me before I finished it. A game I pay $60 for should never do that. I don't mind a game developer re-using resources to make a new game. But, if they save money on it, so should I. It isn't a totally new experience so I should not have to pay the price for a full up, from the ground level, development. Greed has killed more game companies than any other cause Ubisoft...

Some specific turn offs:
1. The beast being necessary. Without it and without a weapon that I can depend upon to get me out of a deep hole, it gets resource intensive very quickly. Then I have to work, instead of having fun, running around finding resources or go back to some base and get into the goodie bag. Then travel back to where ever I was. That is a fun killer.
2. The beast. Feeding the beast is broken. When it needs healed you have to get the distance from the beast just right to be able to feed it, then it moves before you can. Why can't I just drop some meat on the ground, period. Then I get tied up and have to watch the beast eat. Or worse pet its head and watch it eat, over and over and over. This is particularly irritating during a camp battle or when you are being attacked by a large number of enemies. Just let me drop some meat on the ground and get on with my business. Beasts ignoring orders when I need to manage it. Beasts ruining my stealth game or wiping out the enemy so fast I hardly get into the fight.
3. The enemies seem far more alert than they are in other Far Cry games. I love to play a stealth game. I am good at it. Because the weapons tend to be so weak, or give me away by flinging the enemy across the camp, a good stealth game is near impossible in Primal. Not saying you can't do it, it just isn't fun. The weapons mechanic between guns and cave man just don't transfer well.
4. Where is the atlatl? It is an obvious weapon upgrade path and very realistic.
5. The beasts. Needing one to ride to get around. Having to constantly feed the dang thing when it could feed itself - easily. It is always getting in the way so I am constantly having to manage it. And will the beast EVER shut up? Man that gets old.
6. Water too dark in the caves. If you are going to reuse the caves, we need to have the same level of visibility in the water as we did in FC4.
7. Grappling hook positions well within range but not available to me unless I follow a specific path and end up in a specific location with a foot or two. That is a real immersion killer.
8. Can't turn off the subtitles because I have to have them to understand the Wenja. Ok, their language was cool for a little while, then it became a handicap.
9. Telling me I don't need an item AFTER I already went to the trouble to scrounge it.
10. The carefree, roaming around, looking to get into trouble aspect is lacking. Really it started to reduce in FC4. Take a look at the dynamics of FC3, you got it right there.

So I really feel you produced a game to make a nice profit and hoped the Far Cry mechanics would let you get away with it. In my case it won't. If Far Cry continues down this path, this will be my last Far Cry.
