The grenade rubberbanded back at you. Play the video at x0.25, you'll see it going off right next to you.

This won't get fixed easily because of how the netcode works in this game
Actually I've read that the netcode is one of the best to date. However, the servers still suck meaning that a good netcode doesn't help at all...

It actually does make sense. When he pulls out the grenade the lag begins. Because of the lag the information that the grenade has been thrown does not reach the server. However, it still counts the timer for the grenade and explodes it in his hands. Your friend didn't see a grenade warning because according to his local game the grenade was thrown away.

It's good, but not for online play. It's good for LAN, where you don't have to deal with different connections.

That's why the servers suck. When I play CSGO, I see when the game is lagging it's lagging for everyone, it's only a difference between who can compensate for it better.

Here, the hitreg is client-based, server confirmed, which adds additional lag to the one you already have, therefore someone can have an amazing game while the other one will be bugging, glitching, and teleporting.

You rubberbanded, then you threw the grenade in the spot you rubberbanded in. The grenade rubberbanded and exploded.
I would blame it on the server, honestly, since all 9 players clearly had good latency.

What puzzles me is why it didn't show grenade indicator when it rubberbanded.

They are open source? where is this code obtainable?

I see it is an issue with latency. I was just using this footage to confirm. The scary part is yes, their is no indicator to the player that this is going to happen to them.

Yeah but your footage shows that the latency wasn't an issue! Everyone had ping of less than 100ms.

I'm sure devs are already busy fixing this (since it's an issue reported long ago), but for now I'd recommend taking one position back after throwing a grenade.
