Just out of curiosity is the game already patched to 1.02 straight from the latest download?
I'm asking because the game used to download an installer and you could patch the install with 1.01 and then 1.02. Today when it downloads it does so right in the game directory just like some of the more modern ubi games. The game launches and says it is version 1.0 but when I try and run the patches it cannot find the installation directory and will not patch.
I did some poking in the registry just to see if the version numbers were matching up and here is what I found:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Ubisoft\Fa r Cry 3 Blood Dragon]
"InstallDir"="E:/Games/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher/games/Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon"
"Language"="English"
"llang"="English"
"ExecutableName"="bin\\FC3BDUpdater.exe"
"SKU"="WW"
"Version"="1.02"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Ubisoft\Fa r Cry 3 Blood Dragon\1.00]
"v"="v"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Ubisoft\Fa r Cry 3 Blood Dragon\GameUpdate]
"execPath"="E:/Games/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher/games/Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon\\bin\\FC3BDUpdater.exe"
"info"="blank"
"installdir"="E:/Games/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher/games/Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon"
"language"="us"
There was some key info under the "info"="blank" but I wrote blank just in case that was my install key. I really didn't know for sure.
So you can see the registry says it's 1.02. But the game still thinks it is 1.0.
Under that main key there is 2 sub keys. One is labeled 1.00 and the other is labled Gameupdate. Someone suggested changed the version number to 1.0 and running the patch to see but I wanted to be sure that would be correct before I did all that.
Anybody know for sure what is going on?
