Hello everyone wildlands is one of my most anticipated titles of this year. A co op open world ghost game sounds absolutely stellar. However one of the reasons I am very excited is the opportunity they have with the multiplayer in this game. I never really got to experience advance warfare or advance warfare 2 multiplayers online. I heard they were rather amazing though. I played them a ton as well as the terrorist hunt modes in those games. I played future soldiers multiplayer and I feel like it was a missed opportunity to do something great. I don't know if future soldiers multiplayer was just rushed or not but it had its fun moments but the future setting didn't make for the best tactical gameplay. Wildlands seems to be launching against a lot this year or early next year ( when they decide to actually release the game). Wildlands will be going up against battlefield 5, cod 2016, titanfall 2, and destiny2 just to name a few. But I feel wildlands could really distinguish its self and make a name in great multiplayer. This could be ubisofts year following the great responses to siege.
First off there isn't many tactical shooters out there anymore.( at least for consoles) let alone good 3rd person shooters. Metal gear online is good but is plagued by bad balance issues, laggy games, and bad maps. And socom is no longer around. I have a few ideas that could set wildlands in the right direction. These are my opinions but i hope others will agree with me.
- First off don't be like metal gear and rip Multiplayer maps from the single player. Yes use the same locations and use the same building templates and all that jazz but build the maps from the ground up to be balanced for the mp. Put effort into the maps and the community will be able to tell. Great maps make for a very enjoyable experience. The single player trailer from e3 is breath taking but use that for the maps in there own way.
- second from what I can tell the story mode doesn't seem to have classes like the mp does in recon games. Do away with the class system and just let the players build there character from the ground up. By unlocks such as weapons, equipment, and visual customization options. Don't limit what players can do by classes by saying it balances the game but allow for people to take the game into there own hands just like wildlands story mode.
- for the two different teams the equipment and weapons wouldn't matter but the visual customization could. So we could be allowed to customize two characters. One for each team. If one was ghosts and the other the cartels. Ranking up would allow you to acquire new weapons, attachments, equipment and customization. Story mode could even have unlocks for mp by certain customization options. Or just carrying our characters from story mode if they are customizable. The e3 trailer has some cool looking avatars for the characters.
- Thirdly have some fun game modes with unique elements. I would love some smaller scale hardcore tactical game modes such as a elimination 1 life modes. Like a 1 life tdm or a search and destroy game mode of attack and defend. But since ghost recon is open world now with vehicles a game mode on a bigger map all about destroying drugs or securing them could be neat with a semi higher player count and some vehicles. MGO has bounty hunter where you can fulton enemies out of the map and at life tickets back to your team. Something cool taken from there story mode.
- Next I think maps could benefit from Day or night settings and varying weather effects. Some time the map is at night and raining and other times is bright daytime and sunny al around.
- lastly ghost recon has always been a tactical shooter and the e3 trailer also shows this. So make the games multiplayer feel this way and make bullet damage and damage in general more punishing. Head shots are super effective just like siege.
This is a huge opportunity for ubisoft coming off the success of the division release. I feel that the division have great customization and wildlands could do something similar for the mp. Thank you ubisoft for making another ghost recon I hope it does well. I sure am excited for it and another splinter cell! what would you like to see in mp?
Like you said, there are already so many other multiplayer shooters out there with an adversarial (player versus player, if you will) mode. I wouldn't mind seeing a game without it. For Wildlands I'd like to see the developers put all their effort into making the base game and the co-op in it a smooth, enjoyable experience.
I agree, they could maybe add MP in an expansion later.Originally Posted by INBU Go to original post

We'll see.
A lot of third person shooters end up with cheesy multiplayer... I know Tom Clancy games have probably done it the best but hopefully it's more tactical and well thought out than most other games yet again. It's hard to imagine them skipping it, that's what keeps people playing and paying for new content these days.
