"You, like many others, are just coming to terms with violation of expectation. You're assessment of games like Destiny suggests a skewed and false representation of how these kind of games actually work"
Stellar comment and 100% spot on. Destiny's total endgame is loot and Bungie keeps it from you at the levels you need to see max level. You get toot to basically replace loot that you already have that was just fine to begin with. Destiny only has their loot to keep you playing absolutely nothing else. If the loot and weapon system was like the Divisions I could understand making it a endgame thing. But really there is no comparison when it comes to gear, perks on gear and what you can personalize with your character.
Can I have 1000 different faces in Division no. Can I wear about 100 different pieces of clothing and customize weapons that separate me from everyone else? Absolutely. Give me THAT any day of the week over being able to make my guy look drastically different.
Every time I am in my inventory. That is besides the point though. I am playing a player created character and it should be able to reflect the representation I want to play. There is literally no excuse to add the most lazy character customization I have seen in decaes. It is worse than the one in Destiny and that was a joke as well.Originally Posted by Ulnias Go to original post

Indeed this game is nothing like GTA...and that is not a compliment.Destiny was shipped with no story at all basically. This one ahs one, and it was and is fun listening to all the intels. Keener... you cheeky bastard. This isn't GTA, bad comparison really, and is nothing like gta... that was a long stretch.
the DZ is fine. When people realize that it was always more lucrative to hunt rogues, the sooner they will realize its not broken. The reason you dont see as many rogues, is because everyone is busy trying to farm the now nerfed Pheonix Credits and high end drops. Also, there is a lot more room to move around and hunt in peace now that we aren't limited to just DZ1 and DZ2. me and a buddy of mine often go to dz4-6 to hunt just because why not. its a challenge, since we weren't lucky or priviligead enough to get full badass gear pre-nerf of the PC and HE drop rates. But meh, its fun regardless.
The DZ isn't fine. The entire system is broken and there is literally nothing lucrative about hunting rogues....at all. DZ credits are basically worthless. You need to reach level 50 to buy the blueprints; something which most casuals will ever reach when they also face the steep penalties of going rogue or the penalties dying by a rogue entail. It is as simple as that...because the DZ is needed for progression and PVE players will not be forced to do PVP.
Making the DZ work requires a complete overhaul of the mechanics.
We stick with the same types of clothes because everything is basically the same...in different colors. Nothing stands out and nothing is truly unique. Fighting a bunch of cleaners?...here is a purple scarf.you are really complaining about the lack of clothes... when I stick with like 4-5 things at most. I have been wearing the same outfit for like 4 days. We dont need more clothes. there is plenty.
I think you are forgetting that it is a big deal since the PC nerf. This game relies on casuals. The challenge mode missions will deter most of them. You say level 30 friends and you... but what were ya'lls dps and health and whatnot. me and three of my friends who are also level thirty and all of us were running at 100k dps or a little better and atleast 40k or more health and still had problems. We didn;t get past that part either. So waaah. Just wait til it resets and try another one until you get better gear. That's what it boils down to really. I am on console, so I dont really get a lot of bugs or glitches really. So again not a deal breaker. I think your are jsut mad at your let down from your ever expectations and or, you are jsut mad cause your having a hard time. I am sure when you were doing well it was all gravy. But meh.
I run with a group that has over 125k DPS and over 66k health....those shot gunners are ridiculous...1 shotting everybody while bullet sponging 5 criticals well over 290k with a sniper. It isn't challenging if the requirement to even stand a chance is to simply out DPS and out Sponge the opponents and, simply put, that is basically what this game does.
Or at least stop pre-ordering way in advance. I preorder a few weeks before the first beta but I researched the game and the final release of the game was exactly what I was expecting.Originally Posted by R-merc-G Go to original post
To the OP. GTAV is a really bad comparison game (especially when you ignore all of the parts that don't work in your favor) , this game is a lot more like Diablo 3 than any other game I have played (never played Destiny). Is the visual character creation weak? Sure but that is not a show stopper for me (and not playing a game because of a weak visual character creation seems a bit weird since this is not a fashion show simulator). Also, the appearance gear more than makes up for that. Is the story award winning? No but but it at least has a story (more than I can say for Diablo 3) and has it moments (then again, I was not expecting a deep and engaging story line). The DZ. I don't know why so many people think the DZ was designed to be Kill on Sight PvP over PvE. Sure PvP can happen but that is not the focus of the zone, it is to grind DZ rank and gear.
This game is far from perfect but pretty much any game like this (Destiny, Diablo, etc.) is at launch. I have some major grips about this game but I am certainly going to continue to play it as it is still a very fun game for me and give them a few months to see where they take the game.
Nope you do need to "GIT GUD"Originally Posted by CRBKINGWOLF Go to original post
I bet you thought you could run in there with your 120K DPS and 120K health and steam rolled challenge mode and you got punched in the face. Our group did it and our highest DPS is 90K and most of us running 60K-70K health. We use something call strategy and it worked pretty well. Crazy right? We actually learned the fight, came up with a game plan and beat it.
It is not impossible mode, it is challenge. it is obvious you dont want a challenge. You just want to win easily, since you cant...you complain.
You need to really get you some "GIT GUD"
You must be joking....either that or you have just started to play games where you can create your own character.Originally Posted by luth411 Go to original post
Myriad ways. Lol.
This system is literally worse than games that precede it by decades. There are prefab faces which you can give a very limited amount of hair styles. That is it.
All the rest is simply adding paint to the same houses over and over again.
And while the clothing overlay is nice....this does not negate the fact that it is putting the same drapes on the same houses again.
This games customization is an absolute joke.

That's fine if you don't like it. I am neither joking nor have I started playing games with customization. The only joke here is you pretending like the statement "vanilla is a ****ty flavor" offers constructive feedback that the world will listen to. You are behaving like a little boy who doesn't like the color of the truck they got and claims the truck is "stupid". Like that same little boy, you will be patted on the head while the adults continue operating in reality.
Lots of people think Destiny is a terrible game yet it's very popular. Why don't you spend some time reflecting on the fact that some people like what you do not and many of us are going to enjoy this game for our own reasons while you laugh and try to act like you didn't get your feelings hurt by your own hype machine. There's an apple juice in the fridge for you.
That high horse attitude is rich, and rather pathetic, coming from a guy who just literally lectured and berated somebody on not understanding the "myriad ways" you can customize your character and how "innovative" the customization system is.Originally Posted by luth411 Go to original post
Both of the statements you made are objectively untrue...and you can not like that fact...but it is still a fact.
The only joke here is you pretending that it is somehow a fantastic system and that criticizing the system, which was advertised as extremely elaborate, is somehow invalid. You are the one who immediately jumped on their high horse here dismissing the opinion of others and you just got fed with a dissenting opinion....which you immediately got butt hurt over interpreting it as invalidating the entire game.
Now the character customization is extremely limited. You can chose a pre-fab face and a set of limited hair styles with that face. This is basically the extend to which it goes and that extend has been the basis for customization for the last 20 years. There is nothing advanced or innovative about this system nor does it offer "myriad" ways. It sure as hell is nothing close to "elaborate"
Whether you feel it offers enough for you, does not negate this simply fact.
lol I don't like destiny at all wtf, I was clearly quoting what UBISOFT said you idiot, and nothing you said had anything to do with my post. make sense before you commentOriginally Posted by SplinteredSteel Go to original post
