I just have a 34' cruiser in RL, but it's big enough for weekends. I don't fish much, but my kids do. The lake (it's called Lake Pepin about 22 miles long and about 3 miles wide at it's widest)is known for bass, walleye, crappies and bluegill. and of course those infernal carp!

    Here's a nice sunset shot

    Pretty pictures, Boatingirl.

I'm sorry, I just had a really twisted thought...

I live in the Minnesota river valley. The water is so muddy it reminded me of the Discworld novels. The Twins cities is Ank-Morpork, er, Minneapolis-St. Paul. Basically the water looks so thick you could walk on it.

Other than the river, it's quite pretty down here. I work in the cities. It's about an hour drive, one way. People keep asking why I and my parents live so far away. Um, traffic is better, scenery is gorgeous, rent is cheaper. Trees, lots of them.

I once took a series of photos from the high school parking lot. All you could really see in the valley, beyond the high school, was trees with a few rooftops here and there. Too bad I don't have those photos any more...

I've been to St. Peter; it's a beautiful town.
A friend of ours has a dental practice there. his office was blown away by the tornado. all that was left was one wall! amazingly enough their computer and paper files were against that particular wall and completely recovered! So he spent most of that summer on his boat;guess where?

Guess where? Somewhere near your boat?

Other than a lack of big trees through the center of town, we've almost completely recovered. Of course I was out of town trying to do the college thing when the tornado came through. Nothing ever exciting happens when I'm around. The big things always happen when I leave...

It was odd coming back into town the month after it happened. The streets were all cleaned up, but it was like, 'Where are all the trees?!'

I doubt it, but, have any flying boats in that area?

For those non-natives, there's a boat manufacturer in town called Alumacraft. In fact it's two blocks from where I live now. Any hoo, their boats were found scattered all over. One was in my uncle's house half way across town.

Reminds me of the time it rained frogs and tadpoles here. Now there was a night!

Is he using it? Um, no. This is unfortunately Minnesota. People either gave them back or deemed them too damaged for use.

One or two might have kept them, but they were probably from some place foreign, like, Iowa...

Heard of the legendary 'Rain of Frogs' never had one around here. Strange thinking about an image of being pelted with little croakers...
