I remember reading something about that recently, but don't remember where. As I always tell people... Global warming is a good thing. Global cooling is a bad thing.

Regardless, both of them are not good for the current environment and social systems that are in place right now. And considering how much we all want to keep the world the way it is right now, it is an uphill battle for the planet's survival.

Is the way things are now so great? I know any change is hard, but we can't stop the Earth's spinning or the Sun's cycles.

And seeing as how there have been at least eight recent ice ages, including the most recent one, odds are pretty good there's going to be another sooner or later.

Disruptions yes. Florida is going to flood again before that happens. We are in an interglacial period with warming yet to go.

And there's nothing we can do about either one. Pray we don't get a really big volcanic eruption in the meantime.

Just don't try linking volcanoes to man's activities. *sigh* They tried that one with the tsunami.

That one was disturbing. We can't always influence Mother Nature. She just decides to have PMS every now and then... there's no way to control that (for a real women, I've heard that the symptoms can be ebbed by drinking plenty of milk in a regular diet).

Yes, much like green tea, milk makes everything better. Which is probably why I've never broken a bone.

I love milk! I don't know how I could function without it... same with chocolate.

Isn't it annoying how whenever you say something about dairy products being good for you, someone has to bring up some survey they did that supposedly showed that people have fewer alergy reactions when they don't drink milk? Well, duh! If your alergic to grass, don't eat something made from it! Sheesh.

One of the big reasons people end up with pollen and other like allergies, is because during the first 6 to 12 months of their lives they were raised in air conditioning. The immune system is immature at that stage and doesn't know what to look for. If whatever a baby is exposed to doesn't by it's very nature cause disease, the immune system in effect "takes notes" on the substance. Later, when the immune system matures, it just ignores what for other people would be an allergen.
