npc with red diamond over head

Like we know a Wenja npc has green diamond (like diamonds in a 52 card deck, but green) over head, to symbolize friendly.

After a while playing Far Cry Primal one start to see npcs with a red diamond (like diamonds in a 52 card deck) over their heads. While they are not agressive (like Wenja in that way), they do make noise to alert other hostile npcs.

So my question is; is there a a way to make the red diamond guys friendly?

I've never been able to make them "friendly", i just think as there unarmed, you dont get xp from killing them. Also you may have noticed you can complete the outposts with these npcs still alive.

    Ok thanks!

Yea, I was maybe thinking they belong to a similar type of tribe like the Wenja is, and that you get friendly with their tribe later in game. But I guess not then.

Civilian - non combatants - do not fight may give you away if stealthing.

I think you are talking about non combatant civilians, although on PS4 - at least the last time I used the HUD - they are shown on the minimap with white symbols not red.

I murder them in cold blood

They give me away, and aid the enemy. If they had children helping the enemy, I'd murder them as well.
With us or against us, pick a side. They chose poorly.

As a single player game how you play is just your concern, but I Hope you never join an army or only feel that way inside games. No side picking by these folks was involved they were just born into that tribe and culture as you were born into yours both in game and real life. Killing everyone with a different culture is pretty much what the overly used buzz word of ethnic cleansing is all about and the slighly funny modern concept of warcrimes too.

I try to avoid killing civilians in games in general - my choice - although if I am trying to stealth an outpost in Primal and I think someone will ruin that and bring down reinforcements sometimes I give in to the temptation because the game has no non-lethal takedown options. In addition I prefer to play without the HUD now so it can be hard at a quick glance in the heat of the moment to tell a civilian from a fighter. In Primal as a game it is all virtual and ultimately means nothing but I find it hard not to roleplay a little, when roleplaying killing civilians always makes me feel bad. Sadly in real life it seems that the death of civilians in combat zones happens all the time especially when the conflict is tribalistic and a cultural clash. On topic just recently wandering around I spared one panicking Azila civilian after taking out two warriors but a nearby Wenja NPC started shorting Azila, Azila. Azila and then proceded to shoot her full of arrows such is virtual life and death in Primal. Simply to that Wenja all Azila are the enemy as you suggest.
