Played for 7 hours yesterday, have yet to see a High End drop, what am I doing wrong?

Hello everyone, just want to state that I am thoroughly enjoying the game and think its an absolute blast so far!

So the night before yesterday I hit level 30 and woke up yesterday morning eager to try the end game content.

I booted up and first figured I would try the final mission as I read an article saying that it consistently rewarded players with high end gear. After 3 repeated tries I certainly had a ton of purple items, but none of them were overly useful so I figured the good stuff must be in the dark zone.

I hit group match making, joined a group and went off to farming.

5 hours later I finally quit feeling more than a little disappointed. Unfortunately I had pretty much nothing to show for my efforts, with the exception of a few nifty mods I hadn't see a single golden item drop. Most of the purples I had found were pretty much the same as what I already had, with a few minor differences. I did get a few upgrades, but nothing really that significant to make me feel like I was making significant progress.

My team mates were also complaining, one of whom informed me that the drop rates were absolutely nerfed into the ground. Between the 4 of us I believe at least 2 of the players had a golden drop, but that was it. Unless they were purposely not reporting it over voice for some reason. Apparently he said some of the players who hit the end game first were pulling some kind of exploit, and ubisoft responded by obliterating the drop rate.

So realistically is there something I should be doing to try and get the end game gear? The phoenix credit things seem to be dropping, but the amount is so little I think I would have to play something like 10-15 hours a day just to be able to get one piece of gear. I honestly feel a bit miffed over the bait and switch, because realistically if this is how the "end game" is designed I am already pretty much done with it. If there is almost no chance of getting any kind of reward then this game just made the same mistake as Diablo 3 which took roughly 3 years to realize that balancing drop rates around the Auction House was a massive mistake.

So really am I doing something wrong here? Should I be doing something different? Or is there something I am missing?

    Thanks!

P.S I also have a 104% scavenging stat as I remember reading it was supposed to get you better gear. I have no idea how to get it higher as only 2 pieces of gear allow you to roll it.

What is your "Scavenging" % at under stats?

Never mind, saw your P.S. Yours is about 50% lower than mine but it should still have enabled you to see one HE drop. Just keep up the good fight, the RNG gods will shine on you soon enough.

I think this is the way the game was intended. People that got all the gear before the patch slipped through the net I think.

The only thing worth doing now is repeating the missions over and over, like in destiny.

They absolutely bent over their game.

I think it should be "grindy" for the high end gear. Honestly, for a game like this the average player should take a month to get to max level and find decent gear. Especially when the game sets out to have content for a full year, I think currently it's too easy to both level and get drops.

Destiny made this mistake also, to easy to get to level 40 their, to easy to get to lvl 30 here, heck I went in the darkzone for the first time at midnight last night, by 1:30am me and a buddy were rank 12, in 1 hour 30 minutes....

If you think that is bad, we did 2 challange modes yesterday and had in total between 4 people 12 green 8 blue and 2 purple and other than that just useless white junk. When a freaking boss in a challange mode mission drops whites and greens you know somethings just plain broken.
And to add to the insult the sapposed to be garanteed Yellow when you finish the damn mission turned into god damn purples.

No one from us is running around with less than 110% scavaning either so wtf ever they did they broke it.

I assume you did the 'hard' daily challenge; which is only a hard mode who will provide blue/purple.

their only 1 Challengy daily challenge per day

Its okay to play a game for 7 hours and not get the best gear. I like the drop rate because when I do actually get a gold, I will be excited and feel rewarded.
