If you like the PvE coop, stick to the areas that are PvE coop. The Dark Zone is explicitly and intentionally a free-for-all where PvE and PvP meet and blend and where the higher reward is off-set by the higher risk, both due to better mobs but also because other players might target you. The game doesn't force you to go there and it is something like 1/4th of the game world, the rest being dedicated to pure PvE experiences.Originally Posted by Spitfire_CH83 Go to original post
You talk about crybabies ruining games, yet you are the one who is engaging in whining that not all of the game is catered to your particular tastes. The DZ is different from the rest of the game on purpose, you either like it and seek it out or you accept it going in, knowing that you might not have the best time there. If you don't want the experience at all just avoid it and let those of us who like it enjoy it. You are arguing for taking things out of this game, things that many of us like. Those of us arguing in favor of the Dark Zone and the rogue system are trying to keep the Dark Zone as vibrant and engaging as Massive intended it to be, not taking it away from people.
+1 the DZ is just a race to the next mob spawn and the only thing that really happens is when some noob runs in front of you when you are pushing our 120k dps on the named mob and you insta pop rogue and have to high tail it out.
Plus you can also grief players in a massive way by just running in front of them when they are shooting and farm Rogue agent kills.
They should look into:
--- REMOVING THE MAP WIDE SKULL - I mean notify agents that there is players who are rogue but a map wide ESP is crap, as a rogue you should be able to hide and use surprise tactics
--- Make going rogue a way to get Division Tech (Dark Zone Edition)
--- Or revamp the rogue system with a bounty system or something I dont know
Not the best ideas I guess but the map wide ESP SKULL is crap, I want to be able to solo jump a group and it be more then just running the other way for 2 minutes if I am in too deep.
The system behind it is FINE..Originally Posted by monokoi Go to original post

Somehow the ones that killed him did not turn Rogue, what was ODD
Maybe they where not in a party, or whatever..
So we took revenge, killed 4 people ( we where 2 ).. Which was FINE
Now we try to evade the manhunt which was FINE
We die the last 10 seconds.. AND WE LOSE 3 FREAKING RANKS 4 DZ KEYS AND ALL OUR DROPS.. WHAT THE HELL UBISOFT ?
A half of a level losing in DZ xp, i can understand.. BUT 3 FREAKING LEVELS ? Which TOOK ME QUITE SOME TIME..
Load of nonsense..
It wouldn't be if they added a reward that takes into account the difficulty it takes to pull it off. However I would say implement a cap on the "MANHUNT timer" and simply remove the if you are shot the timer pauses. This will lead to more people wanting to go completely rouge and try to take on a server and on the flip side we get to hunt them down like we all like to do.Originally Posted by delushin Go to original post
The current system is actually fairly boring though, I'm relatively new to this game and have been wandering around in the DZ without issue. That's kind of dumb.Originally Posted by JayMadIV Go to original post
I can kind of do what I want in the DZ, and no one will attack me or take my stuff because the risk isn't worth it for the potential reward. This doesn't mean PvP doesn't happen, it just means that the PvP that does happen is just trolls.
The idea of the DZ is to create an area with high risk, and high rewards. Currently it's just the same as the regular game only with harder mobs.
Hopefully we'll get a more fleshed out system eventually, with a more persistent punishment for rogue status that doesn't damage the risk/reward. Gradually accruing a near-permanent rogue status (as in, you show red but there's no manhunt) coupled with less intense manhunts following a kill might be a start. And of course the XP loss and whatnot needs tweaking.
The only rogues I've killed so far appear to have been people who went rogue accidentally, and that's hilariously pathetic for a PvP area.
For me Dark Zone is exactly what I want it to be. I have played already about 40 hours and have been quite a lot in DZ already and have encountered rogue agents (even groups) and have been rogue agent (by accident) and it was fun to survive that one minute or more and I survived. DZ is PvEvP area. It is not PvP zone as someone wants it to be. PvP is there if you choose to go rogue. It's not about killing a lot of people, it's about getting opportunity to kill people to get their loot and the best way to do that is when people try to extract their loot. Almost all my encounters with rogue agents have been near extraction point.
I don't want DZ to be mindless kill everyone you see zone. If they will remove harsh punishment of dying as a rogue agent you will pretty much will get the opposite of what you want. Noone will go to dark zone at least noone will go to dark zone alone. Most people will do daily mission challenges or will go in big groups to dark zone. Dark Zone will be deserted or only occupied by people in groups.
The way it works now is great because it allows you to go alone.
Also this game is only less than a week out. Just give it a time and people will go more rogue because they will already have great looted items on them and they will want to have fun. There will be a lot of people who won't care about loss of rank or DZ funds anymore. It is just now that people still leveling and getting gear are afraid of loosing something.
Apart from all the dicussion if PvP is rewarding enough, I'd like to read your opinions on
how most people seem to go rogue. When your launching a flare to extract or while
attaching your goodies to the dropline, the player is locked in the animation.
This is where 1337 skilled players toss in a 'nade and light you up. That's it, you're dead
and your loot is gone. I don't mind loosing to better players, but being fragged while being unable to
defend or even flee is just frustrating.
