The name given to Takkar as Beast Master is the main reason all these type creatures are tamable. Whether they be useful or, not. It's your choice what you use. He's the talk of the village and among the Udam of how this man can tame beast. I only use them if necessary. I used the Owl only for stealth missions and that was about it and maybe doing some recon for me some times. I view the map of the area I'm entering to see what creatures favor that location and choose my pet then. They can and are for the most part, totally worthless when facing an unexpected enemy unlike, when on their own, attack at a moments notice, you or, them. For the most part, other animals will generally leave the area depending on the creature you have along side of you. As for the badger, even the Cave Bear runs from it. He's kind of fun to have around until, you pet him with the wrong hand, not by your choice, however. Not to give out any spoilers but, if any of you have actually finished the game as I have, and/if, there's going to be a second Primal, there's another Beast Master in town.![]()
I would also, like to be able to ride the other animals in game other than, only riding them for the missions.
Off Topic,
My only real gripe about the game is, how the Sun-walkers never miss, no matter the distance or, movement. They run sideways while shooting at you and never miss a shot. It doesn't matter what weapon they're using, either. I didn't know that, aim hacks were used in prehistoric times?
I think the very dangerous pets like the bear and sabertooth become available far, far too early and too easily. If there was some restriction on them you might be inclined to use the other animals. You might also be inclined to use stealth or other tactics. As it is there's no point doing anything other than tanking with a bear or sabercat.
Perhaps it should require ten points to unlock or something like that.
I almost wish it would have been a little harder to unlock the next tier of beasts. Instead of having it through a skill tree that you can unlock rather early I would have preferred to have each tier tied to specific quests spaced apart, force people to play with the lower tier animals for a while. I was the same way, started with the wolf, unlocked and tamed the cave lion then shortly after unlocked the sabertooth and haven't gone back. Granted I wanted the saber tooth since I picked up the game because as a caveman you need a sabertooth.
Hi Guys,
Yes. With the whole range of pets around, certain points of the game became too easy. You could just clear any outpost with a few pets and the owl.
But, you can always restrict yourself: now I'm currently playing without pets. This way its faar more challenging! Looks like in Survival mode the pets get nerfed, which is sounds good, as they are a huge flawor of the game.
Right now if you have a sabertooth and an upgraded owl, you own anything.
Owl with poison bomb dropped onto a heavy: half the outpost scattered and kill each other
Owl with sting bomb: kill even 3 udams if they are close to each other.
Poison bomb should just poison, disorienting the enemy, and dealing minor damage, hazing vision, makin aiming difficult.
Sting bomb also shouldn't kill enemies in large numbers....
Becuase of this I don't use bombs neither pets in my current campaign.
