Rogues are needed to make the game one that you sit on the edge of your seat when playing so I hope they realized the imbalance. I like to hunt rogues but went rogue many times in the beta and the penalty was stiff then too. The one question is to lose that much how much did you have? I thought rogue was a percentage?
It looks like the darkzone is filled with level racers, with all the best gear etc that just want to prey on weaker foes.
I get that, its cool and makes the darkzone a place you really don't want to go unless your prepared and able.
However, feel how those who haven't collected much stuff feel when they cant set foot in there without level racers taking them out.
What goes around comes around I say......
Im not bothered about losing the items or currency (still have 300k) and was just testing to see what the outcome was.. Just suprised how big the difference was.
The difference between the two are just so major it seems like there would be very and I mean very few people going rogue cause there is so much to lose and pretty much nothing to gain. I just want to know if this is intended like this? or something out of balance.. Going rogue was a key part of the game that drew me to the division but the risk/reward gain from doing so just doesnt make it worth while sadly.
Good. Non hostiles gamble on extracting loot without dying and run the possibility of being PKed and losing their gear.
Rogues should have a similar major penalty. Even in UO, the ultimate pvp mmo, murdering players carried a massive heavy penalty. You got what was coming to you. If they reduce the enormous penalty of going rogue, the dark zone will just turn into a spawn camp fest like it was in beta.
You died. The fix? Suck less. You got what was coming to you.
Honestly, I think it's fine the way it is. So what if you don't get jack-squat for surviving a manhunt. If you've involved yourself in a manhunt, it's because you put yourself there. People should know that going rogue isn't a way to farm credits, if that's a individual's motive. You'd be better off killing someone at a extraction point, extracting their gear, and moving on. The DZ will police itself. The screenshot posted proves it.
It's meant to be punishing. The thing is, extracting a bunch of purples is a good reward even if you don't need them. You know why? because those purples can be broken down and you can convert into high end materials for crafting the best gear in the game.
People are caught up on losing dark zone cash and experience, when those numbers really don't matter much.
Just so you know if they race to level 30 they end up in a DZ for level 30s. I know it did not work in the beta, and I have not seen anyone above the level of the DZ instance yet so I still don't see it as possible. I have been taking my time though so I haven't been able to test this myself.Originally Posted by hotawoskee Go to original post
