I think the biggest punishment is the XP Loss you get. Its not about the fact that you loose XP, more about the fact that you can downrank.
So i went Rogue as lvl 24. I just hit rank 30 got some good gear to pvp a little.
By that time i already was half way to rank 31. I died because people were swarming me as mentioned before and while fighting back i got 1 or 2 more kills.
When i finally died i was rank 29 again - 10k credits of my 20k in total...
The system might be fair for PvE players, but people who enjoy fighting with other players (not because of the loot or credits) have no reason to do so.
You just get thrown back so hard for nothing. Why add a PvP System at all if its not worth playing ?
After you made some runs in the DZ its get repetative. Same houses to clear, same deconterminated zones, same mobs and strategy to clear the zones ...
the PvP part is what makes the DZ interesting and challenging.
If noone is playing rogue anymore, its just another boring PvE zone with brainless farming.
Indeed. In fact, being rank 5 makes me assume either it wasn't as strictly as "test" as let on, or, they really wanted to push the limits, in which case, the punishment rather fits the experimental crime.Originally Posted by samsunglyder Go to original post
^ Then for all intensive purposes, the penalty is working as intended. Think about it... each rogue-kill is like the video-game equivalent to murder. If you kill 7 people in real-life, bounty on the person's head would be huge, and everybody would be gunning after them. Since death isn't permanent in this game, heavy bounty is the next best thing.Originally Posted by F1-Futty Go to original post
I kind of like it, helps fill out the immersion of a badlands wild-west immersion, allowing for bounty-hunting.(And should eventually nobody dare go rogue, there's enough decent AI to fill the void.)
As far as I know, massive will add new PVP modes with upcoming updates...
So honestly, I don't think they should drastically change the rogue reward/punishment system. Sure, there is space for improvement, but going rogue should not be rewarding! In the end, you're a murderer, killing the agents, who try to save New York. You have to keep that in mind.
As soon as people would realize, going rogue is rewarding, the Dark Zone would become a simple death match area, where players with high end equipment bully other agents. That's not what the DZ was meant to be. And I think, more people would quit the game because of getting killed in the DZ all the time, than not gaining much from going rogue.
Update plan: http://tomclancy-thedivision.ubi.com...m:148-76770-32
There are three types of rogues in the DZ right now.
The unfortunate souls who got himself flagged on accident and paid dearly for it
The guys who got fed up with it all who have 0 DZ funds and lvl 1 DZ rank because all they do in the DZ is shoot at other players after a string of unfortunate PvP losses made them go crazy
And the last ones are the sleuths who can kill and get away with it through a mix of sheer luck and super speed and these are a real dying breed because they never last more than a few rogue statuses before they get shot down and turned off of it for good when they see how big their bill is for trying to have some fun and initiate some PvP.
Well, not really. Under hard enough circumstances, could be believed that agents could snap or panic, thinking they need to make a play to protect themselves first. At which point they become "rogue", and as they do, bounties and targets get placed on their head... as emphasis/encouragement for other agents to NOT feel the want to go rogue. Kind of helps to reinforce itself while at the same time setup a make-shift/accidental bounty-hunter scenario, which in a way is kind of neat... if you're the bounty-hunter that is.Originally Posted by Gomly1980 Go to original post![]()
I suggest you go play the Police Academy mission and watch the intel.Originally Posted by Gomly1980 Go to original post

Yep punishement for dying as rogue is indeed over the top and do not corespond to " risk vs reward thing , you survive manhunt agains 14 + players rushing at you non stop and you are rewarded with 1000 credit and few xp point but if you die as rogue in manhunt you can loose over 10 to 20 k money as well as loosing over 2 level ... so yeahOriginally Posted by F1-Futty Go to original post
Risk vs reward is BS if at least there was a reward but there is None ... basically all youre grinding become obseleate if your " try to have pvp fun :" advanture end up by dying because of swarms of ennemy players ....
this crap as to be change
