Hi, not sure if anyone else has this issue. I purchased the game this weekend and it ran perfect. I started up uplay last night and it download an update, now when I click on the "play game" button, I get a small loading screen, and nothing loads, It just goes back to the Uplay screen with the "play game" button. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it and nothing. I did update my video card from AMD to a GTX960 before starting game, but I can find no news of any issue with Nvidia video cards and Far Cry Primal
1) I have turned off my firewall
2) I have turned off my virus protection
But nothing is working
If anyone has any advice on this it would be much appreciated
Thank you very much
try running DDU in safe mode to make sure you clear out any left over AMD drivers and also your Nviida ones and reinstall your new driver clean
you can download it here http://www.wagnardmobile.com/?q=node/58
or from the Official Nvidia Drivers forums here https://forums.geforce.com/default/t...d-02-17-2016-/
it will promt your machine to boot into safe mode when you run it .. let it boot into safe mode and then select Clean with the AMD selection at the top enabled
i use an ASUS Strix GTX 960 Nvidia card and have been using Driver version 359.06 from December 2015 without any problems
some of the newer Nvidia drivers have been very problematic for me with Windows 10 (especially with Geforce experience installed )
what i did when i installed this driver was , after running DDU to clear out my old driver
when windows rebooted back from safe mode was run the Nvidia driver setup , choose custom install not Express
then i unchecked the installer for geforce experience and the 3d vision stuff and only installed
1.the video Driver
2. HDMI audio > since i do use a 40 inch HDTV for movies once in a while connected to my GTX 960
3.PhysX
then i check the box that says perform a clean installation
the Nvidia 3d vision portion of the drivers will do noting for you , unless you own the Nvidia 3d Vision Kit it comes with special 3d glasses and you have to use a supported 3d monitor for it to even work
Geforce experience ever since Nvidia driver version 361,75 had a problem for some users and Nvidia shadow play (part of geforce experience) if enabled would cause several games to crash on launch with a windows error screen.. far cry 3 , far cry blood dragon and FarCry 4 were all affected by this bug ... so thats why i'm still using the older driver package ..i also saw reduced frame-rates in a few games with any of the newer drivers .. plus 359.06 is the last driver my hardware manufacturer (Asus ) has available for my video card , i think its because they may do more internal testing on the drivers since my card is a factory overclocked model ??? .. as the driver package i got from Asus was larger then the one Nvidia was offering for the same driver
installation package
you can try the newer Nvidia drivers .. me i'm sticking to what works the best for my card , since the other day Nvidia actually pulled a recent driver due to problems it created for many users
driver version 364.47
and replaced it with a beta driver version 364.51 and they also recommend users do a clean install and select a custom ......not express installation
i did not try the version 362.00 drivers as they had in the release notes for that driver there were no fixed issues in that driver package. Driver version 361.75 and 361.91 had created problems for me by force installing Nvidia back end software , 361.75 also treated my internal graphics cards as a removable usb device and both driver sets for some odd reason kept installing Nvidia optimus software on my desktop machine .. optimus is used for laptop cards if you have an internal vid chip built onto your Intel CPU .. to switch between 2 d mode for your desktop it uses the intel chip then switches to the Nvidia GPU for games my cpu has no intel video chip on it ..so i have no clue why the driver packages kept installing that extra software ..and i was seeing hitching in FarCry 4 with both of those driver versions ..with the older driver (359.06) that problem went away
also since you switched video cards you may want to open documents MY games Farcry Primal
and delete the gamerprofile .xml file the game will create a new default one when your restart it
that file holds all of your video settings ..and switching your video card from AMD to Nvidia may be not be working to let the game load since according to that file you had an AMD video card installed the last time you successfully launched the game
so try that as well

Hi, thank you for the advice, but it seems nothing works. I've tried:
1) closing my anti-virus program
2) closing my firewall program
3) using that DDU program in safe mode to remove all video drivers and re-installing updated drives
4) Removing both uplay and Far Cry Primal and re-installing
Nothing works, every time I click on the Uplay "play" button, it just loads a small starting screen and then goes back to the "play" screen. Even when I don't open uplay, and just click on the Far Cry icon on my desktop, it just loads uplay screen, and thats it. Every other game I have runs with no problems.
If there is an issue with the updated Nvidia driver and Far Cry Primal, I can't find any news of it on the internet.
I have tried calling customer service, but I get a message stating that calling is only for issues with accounts and not games. This will be the last Uplay game I ever buy, and not because of the game issue, but because of the terrible customer service. I've left numerous tickets on this issue since Mar 8th, and not a single reply
UPDATE: Installing both Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and Nvidia Driver v362.00 solve this issue for me. I can get pass the splash screen now and the game actually loads.
Same problem here.
I've just installed the game and after clicking play through uPlay, a little window pops up "synchronizing your save games with cloud..." after that there is a splash screen with Far Cry Primal picture (scull and knife) and then absolutely nothing. There's no error message at all, it just doesn't load, the splash screen closes.
Someone posted the same problem and found a solution but he was using multiple monitors:
http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...playing-splash
This solution won't work for me. I'm using a gaming laptop (MSI GE60 2OE).
I'm using an old driver version (347.88) because most recent drivers won't let me play another game (Rise of the Tomb Raider). I may try installing the most recent driver but I'm positive it won't solve this (others have the latest drivers and still the same issue). I haven't played Far Cry Primal game yet, I bought a retail disc yesterday and found this problem.
If someone find a solution for this issue please let us know.
