    Shooting mechanics while in/on vehicles

Hey, I've been thinking about the shooting mechanics when shooting out of a vehicle.
In a few games, GTA:V, FC4 for example, there was no way of aiming without also firing, so your target is alerted straight away while you're firing everywhere.
I'm hoping in Wildlands we'll be able to shoot accurately out of a vehicle, even aim down the sights if we're stationary for an even more accurate shot.

    What do you reckon?

Judging from the trailer, the passengers will be able to fire from their seats and I sure do hope they make it in a way that is consistent with the rest of the game.

It'd be epic to recreate what CAG does in some of their training videos. The target is in a vehicle and the Ghosts are in pursuit via at least one helo. One Ghost disables the engine of the vehicle and covers while the others (touch down and) close in on the target. That would be cool. That would also need some vehicle physics (motor that can be disabled and non-exploding cars) but that's offtopic.

Great additions Mike, would love to be able to take down vehicles in a number of different ways without blowing it up, taking out the driver, tires or engine for example.
Funny you mention helicopters because snipers fire out of them all the time in real life right? And hunters fire out of cars and off quads. So why not in GR?

While snipers do use helos as sniping spots, I doubt we can pull such thing in games because of the difference, you can track a target in real life better than in games, plus the helo moves so fast, and we also have pheripheral vision stuff, so instead of being a useful feature, it becomes the unused features which only the veterans will use, but I'd love to see sniping from helos though, seems like a good challenge

In my example I wasn't really refering to snipers but just a dude with a rifle firing into the engine block of a moving vehicle. As helicopters will be part of the game, it would seem to be consistent to let players fire from within them regardless of the firearm used.

Good points Fox, but seeing how it's a part of real life SF warfare I'd really like us to have the option in the game. I can definitely see what you mean though!

that could be a thing, but of course the ability to take down engines is a "double edged sword" as the engine is thick enough to stop 7.62 and probably 338. Lapua Magnum or 50. cal, but then again, it has always been a thing for cars in shooter games to stop bullets, but I hope for higher caliber weapons(338. Lapua, .50 cal, equal to 12.7 mm or bigger) to be able to penetrate car doors for extra sniping advantage lol

well, I'd love to have that feature, heck, even Battlefield does it, so yeah it's just a matter if Ubi put it in, is GRW using hitscan or real ballistic physics(bullet velocity, bullet drop, muzzle awareness, etc), and can we use it EFFICIENTLY, that'll mean I need a dedicated pilot everytime I want to snipe someone from inside a helo, but still, I'll feel like a badass after sending that 7.62 inside some poor guy who just got high in coke
