Im playing TF for almost two years for now and I get quiet good rank overall (around rank 100), also in the crazy bikes im in top 50 (I would say Im in 20-30 since the LB is not updating), also my all bikes are maxed.
So what I can only do now is to improove my word record on all the tracks to improove my rank, however it seems it is rather mather of luck to improover for about 0.2 sec to get a better ranking and it gets anoying to play over and over to slightly improove.
Also in PvP I ended 3 times in top 50 in League of Legends and this gets booring as well.
What I would like to sya is there is not much to achieve so the fun is gone.....how do you feel?
After 2yrs you've finally got to the point where you've achieved everything.....I'd say you've had a good run for a free to play game, most only last a few weeks !!
PLUS RedLynx are constantly adding new content for us to play, so really you've only achieved everything that's available right now, give it a little while and there will be some more tracks to play and another event as well as they've just re-started the Main Story etc. etc.....So, The game's not over yet mate.....Enjoy !!
The only thing that's making me sick is that they won't fix the damn Leader Boards for us, which is a HUGE part of the game !!![]()
CZE-Barton, it seems to me like you have had a pretty good run in the game. . .you are clearly more than just a casual player to stick around this long... and I hope you got enough out of it to consider it having been worth it to you.
Everyone reaches their limits at some point. . . .but if there was something that could be done to help you regain your interest... what would it be?
Maybe you can refocus your energies onto one of the following categories and rekindle some new interest in the game? I have always found Frontier boiled down to these types of players:
- The extremely Casual player. Only interested in the story/plot, but quickly loses interest once the story-driven tracks are gained, or once the grind kicks in. Might spend money thinking it will stop the grind but... they learn otherwise and bail out. Out of the 4 million IOS players Frontier has had in the last 2 years.. this is about 99.5% of them (same on Android, of course).
Whats left are about 20K "core" folks on each platform that probably stuck around the game for more than 6 months. You'll see them on every event LB, and those folks have one of more of the following traits in them:
- The PVP addict. Strongly enjoys one-on-one competition in the Bunker; may not care about good track/global scores. . . and primarily want to upgrade bikes (or get tracks) just so they can have a better/successful PVP experience. People focused on this ultimately leave once they "conquer" the bunker and either dont see enough variation in the seasons, enough competitive variation in the Legend category, or get tired of playing the same subset of legends all the time.
- The Collector. If the game gives it, they gotta have it... if it gives any form of competitive edge or shortcut its even better. Sometimes these folks are only focused on the tracks... sometimes they are only focused on whatever can be gotten "for free". These folks may leave the game for long periods of time (only show up for events). These people will do whatever is required to collect.. including grinding a Bunker they hate for months to get all the PVP tracks. Most Whales are Collectors, but not all Collectors are Whales. Should they fail (for whatever reason) to collect something. . .it sends them into depression/anger and quite possibly drives them to leave the game.
- The LB Chaser. This type is into self-improvement, and will easily play the same track 100+ times to get the "perfect" score. Grinding... is not something that bothers them much, since they grind by nature. Some stop at track improvement... others care as much or more about the global LB or overall track rank/skill. At their core is a solid competitive streak, but more "casual" and not as "in-your-face" as the typical PVP addict. Few things are more enjoyable to them than new LBs to conquer or new tracks to compete on... and nothing is more discouraging to them than any form of LB issue. If they cant compete on the LBs to a satisfactory amount for them (be it times on track LB, or points on the global LB), or if the grind becomes too much... they become discouraged and leave.
- The Social guy. If you are reading this, you have some of this in you.Wants to keep in touch or read the latest news... may like to help, but definitely loves to talk about the game and has an opinion on everything. Joins related clubs/groups ... Actual game skill is not a pre-requisite.
Can lose some (but not all) interest in a game once the game/forum fades to minimal postings or if they are banned.
As for me...
My personality ranking is (most to least). LB Chaser/Social/Collector. My biggest irritations are LB-related, and the one thing most likely to make me leave is having to get tracks off the Bunker in a stressful short Blitz season . . . while the LB are long-term hosed. (and am looking at this current Bunker season knowing all these things will probably happen at the same time soon).
After almost 2 years I feel worn out but I'm still a completionist and it's hard to put it down. I care less but I still grind. I'd also like to say I was there from beginning to end, and I kind of wish it would end eventually. I feel like I have put up with wayyyyy too much BS in this game to even still play it, but it's still a comfort game to me, as much as it makes me want to throw my phone through a closed window. :P

"Whale" is the term used for big-spenders in F2P games... the 0.15% of the gamers who finance 50% of the game... the ones the developers want to ensure stay involved in the game and have things to spend money on. (for the rest of us, the developers are happy to get advertising revenue). Here are some gaming articles about it:Originally Posted by ChemicalD Go to original post

few questions:
-are all your tracks plated?
-is your slot machine lvl 30?
-have you ever reached legend?
-do you have at least one top 10? (or at least one #1)
-are all your bikes maxed?
-do you have all unlockable paintjobs?
-do you have all unlockable outfits?
-are top 100 overall?
-did you complete the story mode?
-are you lvl 50?
if there's at least one question with the answer "no" it means you still have stuff to do![]()
Given the fact that NONE of the Leader Boards work properly anymore (and haven't done for AGES).....It seems that support has already ended.....About a year ago !!Originally Posted by ciscodalicious Go to original post
Thanks for the links XItooner, the third one in particular raises many interesting points. I donīt wanna hijack this thread with that theme so iīll just quickly say iīm not a whaleand that though tragic, look to me like designing games to prey on whales is an advanced science and probably the norm in f2p formats. Letīs hope RL (and Ubisoft) doesnīt go off the deep end too much.
As for Barton, dunno what i would do if i were in your shoes. To me a 0.2s improvement is still pretty decent, but i understand what itīs like when you canīt stand to do a track from the millionth time and everything seems old and repetitive. Maybe take a break see if after a while the desire comes back? We can add to K4shiīs list the questions, do you have friends that play TF? Do you interact with other players? Do you create any content based on the game and share it? Do your kids play TF? Does your wife/girlfriend play TF? Ok that last one is probably pushing it...I dunno what to say, itīs hard to play a game if you feel the end goal has been reached. Usually thatīs when you move away to a different game.
