    Disable Spotlight/post-game notification window

    They're advertisements.

I have already bought the game, I don't need an advertisement when I finish playing a game.

Welcome to Uplay, Ubisoft's DRM and Advertising platform disguised as a game launcher and storefront.

there's numerous threads about these annoying popup-ads already but they are STILL present . This kind of advertising targeting folks who are already your paying customers constitues harassment . It's an unwise feature of the Uplay client and it baffles me why - aparently - no one at Ubisoft realizes this . It ensures every player who has just become one of your paying customers detests the client you use to deliver your products ....

The worse about this is that when you dig in Uplay files, you can find references to the option of disabling these ads:

In C:\Users\JohnDoe\AppData\Local\Ubisoft Game Launcher\settings.yml there is the lines:

    Code:
    spotlight:
      enabled: true
Setting this to false do nothing...

And in \Uplay\data\loc\en-US_loc.txt (also in the other languages files), there is this:

    Code:
    Home.Promotions.Header	Spotlight
    Settings.ShowSpotlight	Enable post game promotions
So my guess is that the option exists already in Uplay, but they choose not to activate it and allow users to use it, as they prefer to go on SPAMMING every day their customers!
I've tried to see if I could modify some files to get rid of the ad, but with no avail. The only thing I was able to do is that by emptying the file promo_config_schema.yml, it prevents Uplay to download the last version of the ad, and the pop-up displays a generic one.

It's not a surprise from Ubisoft, as they don't really give a f... about their customers: as some of you may know, Ubisoft as been very recently fined for 180 000 euros, because of their violation of the law protecting customer's rights in France. They are obliged to display this sentence on the french version of the website.
