Been playing for several hours now, and am not new to Far Cry games. There have been several times when I approach someone (to undertake a mission, like going to the river to kill jaguars), then I am left with no direction as where to go next. In FC4, the yellow triangle would appear on the map showing where to go. Not the case here. Anyone else having this problem? Any help would be appreciated.
So, the sidequests in this game are a bit strange. When you go talk to a character to get a mission, rather than that initiating the mission itself, that actually just puts another marker on the map. In the example you've given, hunting jaguars, that would be a bear paw icon, and when you get the mission, that icon has a small question mark on it, after you talk to the wenja member, a new bear paw icon withOUT that question mark will appear nearby, and THAT is the actual mission. so theres sort of an extra unnecessary step that they've made to, i dunno, pad out the game or something, who knows why Ubi does half the things they do these days....
When this occurs I believe the first tier quest icon has a llittle question mark in them the follow on quest icons do not. This format was something that confused me too, now I like the idea that you have to look for some quests that appeals to me in this primal setting. Perhaps it was confusing at first because it does not seem to happen all of the time and you get sadly used to being too well directed with the Ubisoft HUD and map. If you want a proper challenge try playing without the HUD especially without the minimap it is far more Primal you need to look and listen for threats with the latter turning the music off helps too sadly currently no option on the PS4 to just reduce the musics volume.
