    Black Screen with Sound after cutscene

    I need help! After cutscene where you save the girl from the sabertooth in the beginning, there is supposed to be an autosave and a loading screen but after the cutscene the screen just goes black, no matter what I press on the keyboard, nothing happens. What's going on?

    Had same issue as xGhostlike. Solution proposed (Uninstall all MSVC++ redist and reinstall) by Ubi-Stature did solve it.

    Tried this just now and it didn't work. Even tried a full reinstall on the game. Getting real tired of doing the tutorial after 8 attempts. The save file also gets corrupted each time (alt tabbing during the particular blank screen op is talking about will bring up the menus and you can't select anything else besides load game because it'll tell you it's still autosaving)

    Frankly the 8 failed attempts have really soured me and I don't feel like continuing to play the game knowing that even once i eventually fix this im going to have to once again slog through the 15 minute tutorial sequence once again and watch the 4 minute unskippable opening once again. I've tried getting a refund on uplay to no avail =/

    I'm having the same issue. I have reinstalled the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables (did not fix the problem), but I don't see the option to verify files in the Uplay client. I purchased and installed the game through steam.

    The game also freezes if you get killed.

    Right click the game in Uplay and you should see Verify files. For the record this didn't fix the problem for me either

    I think it's working now.

    I followed the steps provided, as well as update all drivers, and a windows update, and restarted my pc, and ran as Admin. Checkpoints show up and the game doesn't freeze on death. So just update everything you can possibly imagine.

    I've actually managed to pin point exactly when the game breaks, it's when the mammoth is killed and the cutscene plays where you place the rocks. After the cutscene ends the game autosaves, if you go into loadgame during this point and are still affected the save file will look like the image i linked earlier and everything you select in the menus will tell you it is still autosaving. Updating everything hasn't fixed it for me however


    No luck on the refund end either. Still stonewalled and haven't recieved a response in 12 hours since I was told to update my drivers
