Same problem with random crashing/'black screen ever since i got to the protect Koorosh mission in the northing part of the first map by the Den of bones game just keeps crashing now everytime i try and play i get in game 3 mins later game freezes up and cant play causeing me to do a hard reset.... very frustrating for someone who spent 60$ on a game that cant even be played help from ubisoft very very soon would be greatly apprecieated.
I've tried all of those fixes above and the problem still occurs. It's gotten to the point I can't load the game any more without a stutter first (at loading screen, or seconds into the game itself), then a freeze, followed by a major PC crash (black screen, sometimes completely frozen requiring hard-reset).
It's frustrating because it worked fine for many hours before this started happening. I seriously hope there's a real fix on the way soon.
Could it be related to bloated saves as the game progresses?
PS - As stated in my previous post - I'm on nVidia hardware so it's not just an AMD issue.
EDIT: I forgot to mention I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.
So i've got back from work and managed test a bit more and nothing... still the same, crashed again. This is without a doubt a ubisoft problem.
I'm still shocked that they don't give a damn about the pc community, this is a very serious error and should have been adressed already and yet here we are without a friggin response. I'm seriously getting on my nerves here, so much that i've canceled my division pre-order.
I've completed nearly every mission / bonfire / outpost outside the snowy regions at the moment. I hope this gets fixed soon so I can finally continue with the game ffs (still can't take five steps in the northern part of the map without the game crashing like there is no tomorrow). This is obviously a fault on the game's side since oherwise it'd crash everywhere.
R9 380, Windows 7 SP1
WOW! I managed a stable game for an hour or so. The only difference was I quickly fast travelled from the main camp (where my save had been made), to another smaller one, before the game froze. I was then able to play with no freezing / crashes. This took a few goes because mostly, the game freezes whilst loading the save. About 1 in 5 times I can get into the actual game for a minute or so before stuttering and fail. That was when I fast travelled away from there.
I think my issue is caused by the main, large camp. If it saves there then the freeze issue will occur. If I'm lucky enough to actually get into the game I can move elsewhere and save. Restart the game and everything seems to run ok.
I'm not sure if this is the actual problem because I've only tested it once but it's interesting being that I've tried more than a dozen times whilst there, and had crashes every time. Once I move from there, the game seems happy again.
I now just make sure I'm not at the main camp when I save and exit the game.
Again, I can't verify that this is 100% working but it's doing the trick for me at the moment.
Even though this is just sad it's a good thing you were able to somehow find a temporary solution for yourself (though you might have just gotten lucky).Originally Posted by TRiPWiREKABOOM Go to original post
im having the same freezing issue however i have narrowed it down to only happening in snowy region, if i stay out of these regions i am fine. i can play in the regions for some time and it freezes but as long as i stay out i am fine. i have reinstalled game and drivers for my R9 380 multiple times.
Well that didn't last long. I'm back in crash-town again, sigh.
I managed to capture a blue-screen report -
AN ATTEMPT TO RESET THE DISPLAY DRIVER AND RECOVER FROM TIMEOUT FAILED
STOP 0X00000116 (0xFFFFFA800B020010, 0XFFFFF8800FCAA494, 0xFFFFFFFFC000009A, 0x0000000000000004)
nvlddmkm.sys - Address FFFFF8800FCAA494 BASE AT FFFFF8800F400000, DATESTAMP 56ccb9cd
I have no idea if that helps, but it shows this is GPU driver related.
I should point out that I currently have -
CoD World at War, Bound by Flame, Ryse Son of Rome, Dying Light, Elite Dangerous, Stalker Clear Sky, ARMA3, Rocksmith 2014, Metro Last Light Redux, Thief, Assassins Creed Syndicate, Watchdogs, Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen, Fallout 4 and XCOM 2 installed as well.
I can play any of those titles for as long as I like without any issues whatsoever. Far Cry Primal crashes in a very aggressive way nearly every time I try to play it though (if the PC freezes I not only have to force reset it, but also unplug it from the power and press the power button numerous times before the power light will go out after being turned off). I'd say the fact that all of these other titles run fine shows it's not a hardware issue here.
Played for 4 hours total time then tried to play the second day, game froze my whole computer - hard boot - tried playing again, took two steps, froze the whole computer - hard boot - upon rebooting and opening the game, blue screen of death... "kmode exception error" when trying to open the game. Then when even trying to go on my computer without opening far cry, i started getting freezes. Reformatted my pc, everything works fine now and ill never re-install this game again. Put in a ticket the same day I reformatted and of course they wont give any kind of refund, even though if you check the Steam posts on this game - hundreds of people got their money back. Probably wont purchase another ubisoft game, and if I do it wont be through them.
