    Is Hunter Vision entirely optional?

    Hello fellow gamers:
Here's a thing which kinda will influence my decision if I'm gonna buy this game (still waiting for PC-Release):
I don't like the Hunter Vision-mechanic at all, I find it a bit lazy and immersion-breaking. Besides, Oros is such a beautiful world, it would be a shame to view it half of the time through some ugly grey and yellow glasses. I'm planning to entirely ignore it, and I just wanted to know if the game will let me do it. I don't mind, if following bloodtrails becomes so much harder when ignoring Hunter Vision, it'll just be nice knowing that getting 100% completion without HV would still be possible, and that there are no situations where I'll be forced to switch it on in order to be able to progress.
    Thanks!

It's optional because you have to click the right stick to use it (PS4). But without hunter vision you will find it very difficult to follow certain trails.

    Thanks for your answer.
Yes, I know I can switch it on whenever I like, sorry if I wasn't clear on that matter. And I absolutely don't mind if reading trails becomes very difficult without Hunter Vision, it's just important for me to know, that it's possible at all. Otherwise it'll be a gamebreaker for me. I'm a bit of an oldschool-guy who loves immersion and a good challenge, and the moment I heard, that Primal supports No-Hud-Play made me weep tears of joy, also liked the recent announcement of Expert Mode. Thank you.

Beside the missions where you will have to use it to follow blood trails in order to progress a mission which has been stated it would also be harder to find rare animals and to a lesser extent resources for upgrades, you could run right by a rare animal without knowing it adding hours to the game while you try finding them by accident. This could also lead to you entering areas with under powered equipment.

It's your choice to use or not, though it wouldn't be mine.

Yes hunter vision is totally optional.. you dont have to use it at all (unless its a main quest but im not sure if you could get away without it to be honest..).

But that said.. it is possible to track with out it. Footprints and blood trails are visabke but hard to follow.. so if youre looking for the realistic feel then just dont use it.

You can switch Hunter Vision completely off if you go to gameplay options, and set Hunter Vision duration to 'off'.
