Holy Crap!
I've played Far Cry 2,3,4 and Primal, and I have to say, Primal is now my favourite Far Cry game.
I don't know how you guys managed to pull off making a game with no guns as good as this, but this is the most fun I've had in a video game for a long time. Such a great sandbox, beautiful visuals, and a beautiful open world that is full of life.
Thank you!
Honestly, it's everything.
Free Roam - Never gets boring, there are are random events such as Wenja recruitment ones or simply animals attack each other/tribes/you. You never know what to expect and it makes the world feel so alive as every different mechanic is seemingly doing what it wants. Love the caves to just explore, the locations. And Collectible hunting isnt such a choir because every "?" on the map isn't a cut/paste job, they are different and unique every time and just "happen" to have collectibles there. Its a good way to encourage exploration with a reward factor.
Plot - This is something people might not like, but something in Primal I thought worked well. Instead of a singular narrative, the plot to Primal seems to be about 5 mini stories in one. Normally I wouldn't like this, but it works well. You start off with the main quests at the start to Oros, mean a bunch of side characters, and then your narrative branches to either doing those side characters plots or continuing with the main one. They interweave really well and it WORKS really well which is important.
Side Quests - Love them! Something Far Cry has always done well is freedom to tackle objectives however you please. Whether it be saving hostages, or killing leaders, I can be stealthy or loud, and honestly I mix it up, because I can!
