    Small differences in minions?

I've seen a lot of people who want minion troops with totally different actions, from cavalry to archers to even troops with traps. However, I think the troops should remain as they are in function; basic melee grunts who serve as either an annoyance or a tactical piece of a battle. With that said, I think the atmosphere could benefit from a few different weapons and armor differences between troops, enough to make it seem a little more realistic and appealing.

    Weapons:
-Various one-handed weapons(sword, mace, axe, warhammer)
-Different shields, such as heater, kite, buckler, or even a chance to have no shield
    -Spears, with or without shields

    Armor:
-Some helmet differences, from kettle helms to a few visors
    -Gloves or pauldrons
-Chance to have vest/chainmail or a simple gambeson

    Comment on what you think!

What you're suggesting sounds like it would work for Legions minions, but each faction has their own unique minions, the Chosen minions from what we've seen have different shields and uniforms so what you're suggesting may already be in the game in some form.

I know the faction troops are different, but my goal is to have each individual troop look somewhat unique. Different factions would have different random troops, such as Chosen minions with naginatas and kodachi, or Warborn with axes, spears, or even dual wielding.

    I just voted for everything.

I'm not sure how feasible a couple of those would be from a technical standpoint (i.e. different body armour), but any sort of variety would be nice. If I had to pick just one, it would be different weapons, just for that visual of seeing pikes swaying in the distance as the army approaches and then seeing the shield-wall.

This suggestion would be great since it will allow players to face the battle in different engagement. It will make less repetitive to fight the same minions over and over again.

I am curious how it will be implemented though. Will the minion customisation be randomized during a match or do we have to option to choose which equipment they will wear?

I think it would be randomized whenever a minion spawns.

Would be cool if you could select a type of minions to send out, say every time you either die or get a kill you can select 1 of 4 types of troops to send out, swordsmen, shield men, spear men, archer, each having an advantage against a type and a disadvantage against another, it would also add another layer to the game if players noticed that the enemy was sending out a lot of archers, to go over and wipe them out at a separate location.

I voted spears. Some of the armor stuff is already in. And I don't think this is a high priority thing. Just make the minions aggressive in campaign, on higher difficulties, and I'm cool.

what I think you should do ?

I think you should do like no mans sky sentinals did - have diffrent kinds of troops within the same faction
for example 2 troops each faction - do not make them too diverse because then we won't know how to handle each one
but make them diffrent and diverse enough so the game will not feel boring
    anyway, thats my opinion

This is how I think this should be:

4 different weapon variations for each army faction and only 2 armor variation. the armor for the front line to be more tank and the kind of back line/reserves (because there are no archers[at least until]) and the 4 weapon variations are 2 variations for the front line and 2 for the back. off course weapons and armour would variate from faction to faction and each faction should have their own unique power/buffs(maybe im strecthing to another matter now) but I aggree with you, partially
