    Bodyguards and Combat-system suggestions

    Hello there,
after i saw the Gameplay Trailer I have now two ideas that could be pretty interesting for the general Gameplay.

The first came to me as i thought about the movie "Troy"; there is this huge greek army that charges up to the Troyans and a huge Battle results, but the hero Achilles took his company of 50 men and attacked the temple on his own.
My suggestion would be a small group of Bodyguard Minions (The size of the group could be Level, Fraktion or Gamemode dependent) that follow the hero around and are more commandable than the normal minions. They could be even costumizable; like different colors or weapons or something. Imagine that you have to fight the other heros and defend a command post; now you can send half of your group to this command post and the other half can help you in your fight.

The other suggestion is a bit difficult to make i think; The combat system looked a bit too simple in the game. It seems like its just 3 attacks with your weapon and this special attacks. But i want to see individual combat moves with more freedom. My suggestion would be, that besides this normal weapon moves you can somehow develop combos for your own Characters. It shouldnt be just some combo of the basic movements but movement costumization like rotating a spear over your head, than slashing from the lower left side to the upper right and a jump into a stab. These could be created by the player and then dedicated to a special combo button and a direction with your mouse. The single moves of the combo can be blocked, but the combo would go on untill the enemy makes a counterattack. This counterattack would make more damage so it would be dangerous t use the combos.

    Thank you for your attention.

This is very interesting feedback, MisterSegs. We have taken note of it.

I like the bodyguard idea, but the current combat system seems fine as it is. Remember, we've seen gameplay of only 2 out of a likely 12 classes, so odds are they will have significant gameplay differences. But again, bodyguards, even if they're map-specific, get support from me!

    VIP mode

I saw the word Bodyguard and something clicked. How about a gaming mode where one side has to guard a Vip and the other has to protect it, games are set up as best two out of three rounds with no minions to get in the way. However their can be stage hazzards to make each match unique.

I really like the idea of having a small group of minions that surround and travel with you, but I believe they should still remain mostly irrelevant in actual combat. Lets say each player has 5 minions that will travel with him. If oyu engage another player, each players minions will just square off against eachother. If you kill the enemy minions and still have minions of your own remaining, they may provide a combat advantage like doing small amounts of damage to the enemy with weak hits (but causing no hit stun, this is important). The focus of the game should still be 1v1.

It would also be interesting if there was a 'command' UI where you could order your troops (or other troops on the map even) to move to certain points. Perhaps defense point A looks in trouble and you think sending your minions to it would be enough of a help that you don't need to send yourself, and instead you could go and do other things. Commanding troops can be easy and simple while also providing a layer of strategy. I think it would be a great addition.

I love this idea, I think if you could spawn some minions every time you die, or every time you get a kill it would make the game really interesting. When you spawn the minions you select one of the 3 objectives to target and they move from your teams spawn to that location, the enemy has to either send troops to counter them or go there themselves. You could even work with your team, saving up spawns so you can send a concerted push to one location from everyone. All that you would need is 3 button mappings, easy for the keyboard (i.e. 5,6,7), maybe D pad for the controllers? One push of the button when you have squad charged up in your counter and they are on their way.

bodyguards sounds great, but more as defender with shields or to protect a base....and if you help'em survive as long as possible they level up aswell.
