i activated all quests, prepared myself with plenty of supplies, even got a trusty sabre of my own to help me deal with him. started nightfall and i killed half of his life points, he runs away, had to sleep until nightfall again because he ran away, then i went to attack him, got him down to very low health, didnt run back to his cave like they said, didnt pay attention to my bait, his health was almost empty so i waited and he walked off a cliff like 10 or so meters tall (ledge more than anything) and died, couldnt skin him and it ended the quest. now im a little frustrated because i cant have one of if not the coolest companion there is to get. what did i do wrong? i never died or did anything abnormal to cause such a reaction. xbox one btw. all help is appreciated
I'm glad (in a way) that someone else encountered this. I had exactly the same experience - fought Bloodfang down to low health then both fell off cliff leaving dead sabretooth body, no flight to lair and after sleeping for a night at the camp it said quest complete without unlocking beast to use. Now unable to retry quest to collect beast. Very annoying. Any fix Ubisoft?
Hey everyone.
This is currently one of our known issues, that you can find more information about HERE.
Thanks.[Bug / Glitch] Epic / Falling Epic animals can sometimes fall of cliffs and die, making them un-tameable.
Error description: Epic animals can sometimes fall off cliffs and die, leaving the user unable to tame them
Workaround: Fast travel out of Beast Master Hunts area and then back, in order to retry.
Sorry, this is not a correct workaround. After sleeping for a night after the beast fell off a cliff and died, I had a 'quest completed' screen and the quest disappeared from the map, no matter how many times I fast travel to and from the area. Any other solutions? Otherwise we lose the best beast in the game because of a glitch and it's a long way into the game to have to start a new game with the potential for it to happen again.
Fix ths Problem please fast, because i like the trophie, and the best animal ingame, when is a patch coming?Originally Posted by OXMSpiff Go to original post
I think he meant fast travelling while the quest wasn't completed yet, so that you "abandon mission" and you'd have to play it again.Originally Posted by OXMSpiff Go to original post

I have the same problem. For me the bloodfang sabertooth has been killed by my own sabertooth while i was fighting it. The mission is complete but statistics tell me I have not finished the mission 1/4 (I have already the snowblood wolf). There is no way to have bloodfang as tamed beast after this mission because it does not respawn. I want the trophy+100%. Can you please come up with some patch? I do not want to start from the beginning because of this.
So before i begin i am going to point out that this is the only way ive been able to fix the bloodfang sabertooth mission failure because it died after walking off the cliff. This may or may not work for the rest of you.
So to begin, after i was damaging the bloodfang sabre to a stagnant low amount of health it disapeared off my map and i got a world icon located to its body, couldn't skin, failed the mission, cant redo, couldn't tame it. After this happened i kind of freaked for a minute, because hey, this is literally the most interesting and developed animal in the game, after all, i guess you could say you have some 'history' with it. so before it had the chance to save or anything, i went to my xbox home screen and immediately started up a different game, left and went back to far cry primal. it loaded up my save state and TAH-DAH! it was at the point where i had gone to sleep to start the night hunt, i finished off the bloodfang (it almost died again, by my own companion, didn't retreat to a cave like it was supposed to) but it did fall on the ground, i waited till i got the marker to tame it and, YES! it worked, and now i have one of, if not the coolest companions in the game(without having to reset a whole new save or anything) unfortunately this only works for someone who's been lucky enough to not have experienced a saving stage in the game that would otherwise confirm the failed quest. Hopefully this helps someone.
