I recently built a PC to replace our gaming consoles because I wanted a faster, better experience. We have two separate Steam accounts, two separate Windows logins, but only one of us can play Far Cry Primal, as there only appears to be one account that can have access to the game. This is absolutely ridiculous. If we legally buy a game, any member of our household should be able to play the game and have their own save points.
Am I just missing something?
If this is the case and only one person can play the game, I can assure you, I will never buy another Ubisoft game again. So please, tell me I'm doing something wrong and we can share and play the same game among family members in the same household. If it can be done on the Xbox, why not the PC?
Thanks in advance for your help.
After the experience I've had with this game I would fully support an Ubisoft boycott, but for the reason given it's not totally justified. Steam is basically a form of DRM, since only the original account holder will be able to access the games they purchased on Steam. This is true for every publisher that releases on Steam, not just Ubisoft. Otherwise it would be far too easy to simply copy the game's data files and move between accounts.
I'm sure there's a workaround (logging in to the proper Steam account and meticulously media manage the save files), but really that's the unfortunate fact of the matter when it comes to PC gaming. Can't just trade discs like on consoles. The benefit is that you can have the game installed on any machine you use just by logging in and re-downloading.

Thank you for your response. I am just very upset that I spent a lot of money building a very high end PC to come to find out we need to buy one game per person for our family. That just blows my mind. They punish law abiding citizens, while those that want to pirate these games can do so it in a matter of seconds.
I guess I'll just wait a few months for my son to finish the game, then I'll go back and erase his saves and play it myself. My daughter can play it in 2017 or 2018.
Sorry for the rant, but they really should find a way to fix this.
Totally agreed man. Hackers and pirates will always find a way. All these useless attempts to quell pirating just make things more frustrating for everyone else.
On Ubi's side, I really just do not understand the lack of multiple saves. I mean it's an open world game ffs. There's a lot of different ways to play... why are we completely unable to experiment without wiping progress? Not to mention people like me who run in to a game breaking bug that destroys 15hrs of progress, which would have been so easily negated by a backup save. Oh well...

I mean if we can play a single Ubisoft disc on our Xbox, and each of us have our own saves, then why can't we do it on our PC?
Simple they wont let you but NEVER FEAR Uncle Wolf is here with a possible solution to your dilema.... you ready its called GOOGLE its your friend and apparently so am i cause i did the search for you if you bought if off steam simply go here and read! http://store.steampowered.com/promotion/familysharing If it is available and most games ARE you can do that and everyone in your family can experience the wonder of Takkar on their own... There is one draw back though if your son is play Far Cry and you try to log in from another computer to any game on steam he will be asked to log out of the game until you are finished Originally Posted by BazookaPantz Go to original post
