Just wanted to point out 2 little things that "harmed" my inmersion enjoyment =)
1. All the citizens getting scared of me or bothered just because i ran pass them, not even at a threatened distance... It let me feel very unwelcome, I am supposed to help this people and save them, yet if I ran by then i a more then safe distance, they acuse me of things.. I am not saying the need to be happy to see me, just not think i will assault them at any time.
2. car doors, really cool, yet if i ran pass them also in a safe not touching that door distnace, they will still close... making it look very "magicly" and also weird...
Thats it, two little things that it would greatly enhance my enjoyment if it were a bit more "realistic"^^
have a nice day, and by the way, really cool beta! Thanks
I carried a firearm for years at work and I can tell you there are people that do react that way. We are in NY, which in real life happens to have a very pro-gun control gov. There are people who are afraid of firearms in general, or judge people just because they have them. I kind of felt that was quite realistic to be honest.
This raises the question, what country you are from?
For #1, try taking a ride along with a US police officer in a major city (yes, they do things like that... but not everywhere). That is how most citizens pretty much treat police officers NOW, and I don't think it would be better for an assault rifle wielding non-uniformed division person wandering down the street when people are shooting each other for water on a daily basis.
As for sgt's post... yea. I live in a very gun friendly state and if I so much as take out a multitool to cut something open in a public area people react like I'm about ready to charge them with an axe. It's funny how people associate things with danger and not others, as they wouldn't think twice about walking down a sidewalk for a bit.... where you are just a foot or so from multi ton vehicles passing at speeds high enough to kill you instantly and the only thing keeping them from popping the curb and doing so is their own restraint. Heck, I wonder how many people lose their lives each year in car accidents or hit and runs because a driver SNEEZED at the wrong time.
Didn't have the magical door issue in my game play as I had to rub against the cars. Though what got me was the breaking you foot every time you dropped one story from a building escape stairs. The have a great system for every thing else, but left out a drop down so you don't take damage every time. I can see if I just randomly jump off the spot, but if you can lean over and grab the edge and fall closer to the ground like most folks would do than it should be added in so you don't have to take damage every time.
Oh and if you walk and not run, they won't run from you. Some reason some guy running with a gun scares them....which I can see just about every one not liking a guy with a gun running at them. Remember your not even wearing a uniform in game so you could be any one.
