yes, emblems and patches

I think it would be cool to add emblems to players in the dark zone. Here is what I mean. There are three emblems that a player can receive: rouge, friendly, and bounty hunter. For example, if a player has gone rouge 5 out of 6 previous lives then he has a rouge emblem by his name, meaning he/she is likely to go rouge and to be cautious of him/her. Also by going rouge to the level of manhunt automatically gives you a rouge emblem. The next emblem is friendly which you earn by helping revive non-group players and by not attacking other players. The last emblem is bounty hunter, which you get by hunting down rouges. The emblems are not permanent and can be changed or removed all together based on how you play. For example if a player has a rouge emblem and they help revive 5 non-group players then he can get rid of his rouge emblem, yet he does not receive the friendly emblem just yet. also if a player is a bounty hunter and goes rouge several times then he would lose his bounty hunter emblem. I think this would add another level of strategy to the game and actually goes along with the fiction of the game. Think about it, these are super soldiers with incredible technology, doesn't it make sense that they would have a sort of criminal record of people around them that are also decked out in technology. This would encourage more interaction with other players whether it be positive or negative and also inform player about the enemies and friends around them. It would also warn players of trolls. Maybe even have different levels to the emblems based on how many times you have earned them. This also adds another element to the game, kind of like a mini game, where you could be proud to be a level 5 bounty hunter and have 50 rouge kills under your belt. obviously you sometimes go rouge, so in this case I think if you go rouge once it takes away one bounty kill, or same thing with helping revive someone. Seems like it could help add more end game content and purpose. What do you guys think?
Edit: There has been some pushback on the idea so I have revised the idea, let me know what you think:
How about this:
If you go successfully go rouge or manhunt a certain number of times you unlock unique cosmetic gear that you can choose to apply to your appearance. this gives you the option while also providing purpose to do more things. you could also get unlocks for killing bosses, rouges, and helping non group people. this is a way to add more content and incentive while giving the player the choice to show off that he is a veteran rouge or bounty hunter.
Some cool items would be like a medical outfit for someone who has helped heal random people or a beanie with the rouge symbol on it. maybe for a notorious manhunted group a biker jacket with the ability to customize akin to sons of anarchy. and for a bounty hunter get a pair of dog the bounty hunters sunglasses. stuff like that.
this suggestion is getting bumped down the thread very quickly and I want people to see it because I think it is a good idea and actually constructive criticism and not just bashing the DZ. so many people are complaining about rouges and other aspects of the dark zone that are the main components of the game that will not ultimately be changed. The Dark Zone and rouge players are apart of the game and Massive made a creative decision to make the game this way. So if you don't have constructive criticism to help polish what is there then don't comment or don't buy the game. Or better yet stay out of the Dark Zone. The game is huge and a lot of fun. so please keep the posts sensible
No.
Because too much information takes away from the tension that the DZ brings.
the game is an RPG first, the DZ seems to be designed around the RPG element in that you get cut off from HQ so they don't know that you're murdering other agents out of greed or because you're a psycho. Having an emblem goes against the RPG aspect, if the game can identify that an agent went rogue several times when they go back to HQ the JTF should kill them on site. Game over no more story.
Agent Lau said she's taking a chance on you in the helicopter ride, because she doesn't know your background how you might react in a situation only that you're a division agent.
I don't want stats in the game because once ppl who don't like the PVP aspect start seeing they've been killed X times in the DZ they're going to fill the boards up with how much they hate having a bad report card.
I agree with you to an extent, however a large part of the DZ is going rouge and hunting rouge. i personally would love to have stats, in fact most RPGs have loads of them because they are a game of numbers. yes the stats could hurt you however just make the stats only available to the individual. the emblems wouldn't show overall stats but tell you a player is likely to go rouge or kill a rouge. i think for end game this would actually give the game more purpose than just loot hunting. i agree tension is sometimes built on the unknown in the game but personally i think it would be even more intense to come across a rouge emblem and you have a bounty hunter emblem to see what would happen. it would be a pretty epic showdown or standoff. i also think you should have some lasting consequences for your actions rather than just it be over when you die. in my opinion every RPG has varying levels of stats, abilities and classes and this helps to add to all of those.
I don't really see the point. Someone having the "friendly" indicator can just as easily turn on you as the current system with no indicator. I would be more likely to let my guard down to someone that had friendly over their head and have them turn on me, than to be wary of no indicator and judge them by their actions instead.
Just my opinion.
This is an rpg. They should have some type of reputation model for acquiring xp towards a certain reputations.
I like this idea and I think it could be worked into a good format.
Would be even cooler if certain reputations could unlock patches that we could wear on our gear.
But ya, things like this would be pretty cool. They would just have to figure out a system for it to work.
that is the point. the dark zone would still remain the same but it adds another level of strategy to the game. you might feel safer around a friendly and that could be their strategy but in order for them to get that they have to have helped other players so at other times it could very well benefit you. however In the End, it is still the dark zone, trust no one. just adds another element
In that case, I think it's a bad idea.Originally Posted by TurfTyrant Go to original post

fair enough. i am not being sarcastic when i say this but what ideas do you have to add to the end game. i really want it to have more purpose than the destiny like loot drops. as much as i loved getting DZ funds and keys to unlock chests mixed with the thrill of extracting the loot, how many times do you think you will do that before you say you have had enough of the DZ and would rather just go play the raids? would you want something to work towards that could possibly give you a reward or reputation?Originally Posted by Kynlore Go to original post
