Simple fact - the DZ is a troll haven and it is turning people away (lost a few interested friends between the 2 betas) from the product the devs want to sell. This can be made slightly less of an issue by removing most of the punishment of not being a ****,don't take cash and xp from non-hostiles as dropping your loot is enough of a death penalty.Don't reward rogues for surviving their timers, their already getting loot without having to work for it.The incentive given by the devs for going rogue and going against the lore is the loot,it shouldn't just be an easier way of building cash to buy the best gear from vendors. This would lessen some of the entrance camping, other cowardly camping (like that one spot) and the killing of people that don't even have any loot to steal yet.
An even better idea that would change some minds of those put off is to create a PVE DZ option (with slightly lower cash and xp rewards due to lower risk). This option gives the PVEers a chance to still enjoy farming the DZ (and any events or boss fights they would otherwise miss) without being trolled. It also lets them stick to the games lore of agents working TOGETHER to take back the city. This should make everybody happy,PVEers don't lose a third of their playable map and can RP their given character properly and PVPers and griefers can keep mindlessly killing each other in the PVP DZ.
I know the grieffers wont like this because they wont get there easy trolling on the PVEers, but the thing to consider is they wont be in the DZ on the full game when they have much less annoying options to get there good gear.
Edit:-as bad as my OP is i wont change it so it doesn't make any posts in the thread confusing.I will however update to better explain my reasoning for this thread for anybody that reads this and jumps to the back.Other than some things that bugged me (like the non-hostile and easy rogue cash/xp loss) i do enjoy the game as it is.I also understand that many don't,my idea for a separate DZ is so they can still enjoy the other aspects of the DZ without being upset about the PVP.It also benefits those who like the current DZ by lowering the number of people that will turn up here after launch calling for major changes and nerfs to the current DZ.I also think (but i'm no developer so its just a guess) that this would be a relatively quick and easy addition in the ideas for making both sides happy.
As A solo player who tends to only go rogue by accident, My only advice is this...
Get better.
EDIT:
Okay as one of the people who replied early enough for this post to matter. This thread is now 42 pages long. If you're going to reply to someone in the middle of that 42 pages, please include a quote so we actually know what you're talking about when you respond to someone's comments...
Cheers, and see you in the darkzone.
Well thought response, except for the fact you missed the point of the topic altogether.I never said i was bad, just would like to see the game have more success by not driving people away.I also have a crew to run with and we have done well so far by just farming AI and high level rogues (always leave the low level rogues unless they engage us). With that said,i would still like to be able to get more friends back to this game (especially if the rumoured large group content exists).
Okay. now for a well thought out response. The amount of fine tuning this beta will allow this close to release is minimal. My point of saying this is that these beta gameplay days are more a demo to keep interest up. This is just a small slice of the gameplay that will be available to us (I hope). Unfortunately this renders the dark zone as the most interesting place to play after the first 30 minutes or so when you've completed both PVE missions, and done a little grinding to get to level 8....
Unfortunately PvP not only interests the good honorable people of the world, but also the trolls, and the 8 year old kids who want to shoot you in the back after you've just just burnt half your health to get to them and resurrect them, and laugh about how awesome they are. But I digress. The darkzone is internet anonymity at it's finest. Given the chance to be a bastard with no repercussions a percentage of humanity will happily sell out their own grandmother.
My problem with the darkzone isn't so much the player base. It's the fact that it's buggy as hell at the moment.
I only ever think of these near launch betas as basic stress tests for them and hype builders for us.It seems we agree on the toxicity of a section of the gaming community also. This is why i think PVEVP shouldn't exist without options to avoid it as most games that do this have or add.It seems the only option for those who don't like forced PVP in this game is to completely ignore 1/3 of their game map.I'm no expert but i wouldn't think it would be hard to add an option of loading into a DZ instance with no friendly fire on other agents. That one simple option would make a lot of people happy without effecting the ones who are already happy and it has the added benefit of the devs making a few more sales. Those extra sales benefit us to as it gives us a high chance of extra content and sequels.
Dont really understand your Point here. The DZ is a danerous, unlawful Place. Without the PVP element that anyone can starting killing you you lose that danger. And speaking game style, the DZ is the PVP area, if you just want to PVE dont go in there. And sure you loose some chance for good loot but thats the price you pay.Originally Posted by DJ Trig Go to original post

I don't understand though, they might as well quit life.. Dark Zone is not that hard or scary. If you never go rogue you won't lose that much experience, if you do go rogue and die you are punished, if you have alot of Dark ZONE keys you will drop alot of keys instead of one. You will lose more money and experience...
As far as getting killed by Rogue, it's really not hard to avoid them enough to extract. There's way more people to help you then rogues out there. Rogue behavior is really easy to spot even before they start shooting. If you have to find another extract area. All these tense decisions is what makes the Dark Zone fun. And the setup is nice between seemless going in and out of pve to pve/pvp..
