I always assumed it was put there to trick me into going onto that godforsaken place in the internet where uplay exists. I pretty much rage quit the game for 3 or 4 days every time I accidentally hit it.

Charly is right - you will get used to it. It's really not that bad to be honest and I really don't think you'll lose any sleep over it in the grand scheme of things. Basically it gets in the way of you rage quitting and makes you rage more because you can't rage quit quick enough. Grrrr. Time to relax. Haha

Community Developer
Hi everyone
I do understand it can be frustrating for forum users.
However, I want to make something very clear : Trials Frontier isn't a "participative" game.
I am available for you guys, to give you as much information as possible, to analyse and forward the community feedback as a whole (not only the forum, but social medias and app stores) to RedLynx. But having a space to express your opinions doesn't mean that RL will follow everything your suggest. I know I said that before, but I just wanted it to be very clear.
Listening is one thing, and this is what RL does via all the reports I send them. Acting is another one.
I'll give an example about something I know : data analysis
There are 2 ways to collect info about a population's opinion : qualitative and quantitative analysis.
With quantitative, you ask 10 000 persons to answer a poll to get a general tendency that is as representative as possible.
With qualitative, you will have focus groups with 50 persons, and try to understand the "why" of the general tendency, knowing the 50 persons aren't representative.
I let you guess which one is the forum, qualitative of course ^^
To make decisions, a company needs both, and won't only based everything on the 20 extremely happy or extremely angry focus group participants.
Example with Trials Frontier:
- the devs notice an increased number of players login into Uplay more than once a day (quantitative). I forward them your comments about the place of the Uplay button (quantitative), and they can understand where the numbers come from (I made that up, I don't think the devs are monitoring that data, nor even can).
- forum users really enjoyed the Rodeo event, but the global data show that it was the event with the less active participation, so the devs will rethink the event mechanics for the next event to fit better the whole community expectations (again, completely made up example)
After that, there is another step, which is an internal decision : it is worth it to change the placement of the button, taking also into account :
- the internal resources to allocate someone on that task
- the external constraints (app update approval for example)
- the original purpose of this placement
So, to conclude this discussion :
I forwarded the issue more than a month ago.
RL said, "ok, we see what they mean, but not gonna change it for now as players never like UI changes, but always get used to it"
This doesn't mean I, on a personal point of view, don't feel you. Neither that RL didn't listen to you. They just didn't take action in the direction you wanted.
It is important to make the difference between a "no" and a "we don't care", otherwise you will always be frustrated
I really want to make sure you feel understood and listened, because it is the case. But it will never mean RL will follow every request. And I hope that being as transparent as possible about the decision making process will help
