Was looking forward to playing the open beta as I have not had much time with it, unfortunately this maintenance window is right in the middle of prime playtime - 8PM - 11PM (presuming no delays) for AEST aussies. I certainly understand the need to test and patch etc, but if this is a sign of things to come with patching and maintenance times then Im leaning towards not purchasing. Im not convinced yet by any means.
If this is going to be a nightly occurrence prime playing time in Australia, I will just cancel my pre-order.
I am enjoying the game have since Alpha (which sucked initially) till now, but seriously servers down 7p - 10p Brisbane time every night?
Yer I wont be paying for that which is a shame
Thanks for letting the public know Miisty!Originally Posted by xMiiSTY Go to original post
I'm Australian, I got to play for 25 minutes before being cut off for the maintenance, but I'm not here to complain.
Thanks to the Dev team, I really enjoyed those minutes, it was easy to jump in to the game, it was fun to play, I felt like running in solo was exciting and the game lays everything out well. I have a cheaper PC, but it runs real smooth without pre-configuration. I will jump back on when I can, but I know it will be easy to launch and play because I LOOKED AT THE DAMN MAINTENANCE TIMES AND WILL PLAN MY PLAY AROUND THEM RATHER THAN BE A DAMN WHINER ABOUT THIS FREE BLOODY BETA.
I am sorry there are so many of my fellow Aussies crying about server maintenance. I hope the maintenance goes well, and hey, maybe it'll be over sooner than expected because you guys built good servers that don't need a lot of upkeep. Thanks Ubisoft people for making a good game. I'm probably going to buy it, just based off that near half hour time slot of gameplay. I am not trolling, I am genuine. Please do not listen to the over-ntitled asshats that troll your forums.
Bless you and your work.

First of all, thank you for such a great game and making it public. I had great joy playing it for a couple hours. But I wish there was a notification up front about the server maintenance. I was also in a mission and it threw me out like "screw you and your mission, MAINTENANCE NOW" style
It's fine, I won't complaint. And I will most likely buy this game. Seemed very unique and joyful if you compare to other fps franchises.
I will be waiting for maintenance break to end and dedicate my Saturday for this game.
Regards.
The fact that they continuously need to do "server maintenance", that takes 3 hours, ultimately shows there is a serious problem with this game. It shows the back-end programming for this is not suitable and they are having to clean things up, every day! They only have 2 weeks to fix it, too. I have managed to play 54 minutes of the "single player" element before being kicked out. For me, this is not worth paying £40 for until there is no more "scheduled maintenance".
Really disappointed because I was enjoying the game, that I have been looking forward to, for a long time.
I will keep an eye on the forums, post release, to see if it does not have "scheduled maintenance" every day, before purchasing.
What a bunch of entitled, confused individuals.
Compensated for this downtime? Are you high? It's an open beta. Server maintenance is to be expected. Hell, server maintenance is to be expected even on a fully released game.
Why would you expect to have a beta schedule tailored to you when you don't live in the primary time zone of the customer base? Out of the top 100 gaming countries in the world, the first 3 spend more money on games than the following 97 combined. If you don't live in Japan, China, or the United States, guess what - you're part of those 97.
The worst beta you've ever been in? You are delusional and clearly have not played many betas.
Ubisoft hates Australia? Makes sense. A developer/publisher hates an entire country. Totally legit.
The few replies to this thread encompass everything that is wrong with the gaming community. Someone said you can't have the toy you really want, and now you're throwing a fit in the middle of the store.
But you have to admitt that the timing sucks.Originally Posted by drinkc0ke Go to original post
True, it's a free beta, but a beta is for testing and if the servers are down you can't test it.
