    Really?

If this is gonna be a regular thing than I will save my money. No point buying a game if it is down during the only play window I have.

The maintenance period during the alpha, closed beta, and now the open beta has always been at the same time, which is the time best suited for Massive in Sweden to do what they need to do.

I've seen people from all sorts of timezones complain about this over the past couple of months, and there is no way they could take the servers down at a time that suits their business needs AND at the same time please everyone.

To be clear, I often game between 9-12 GMT on a Saturday which is now, but I accept that the servers have to be offline at a time that suits the developers.

And you have not tested many betas in your life then, when this is one of the "worst". Actually it is one of the polished betas I have seen in my 20 years onlinegaming and I have tested several alpha/betas (were around 100 if I remember correctly).

Wish we have back the times where betatester where handpicked and got payed for their job
still.........way too early to be doing maintenance especially since a lot of us have something called a job where we cant play till almost saturday morning...maintenance on sunday fine but not practically the same evening it came out that's a little ridiculous

Is this a sign that we shouldn't bother getting it here because there's no consideration?
Can't be as bad as us Kiwis

Beta opens 1 AM on Saturday morning. (At least you guys get Fiday night lol!)

Beta goes down to maintenance on Saturday 10 pm to Sunday 1 AM

    Beta finishes Tuesday 1AM.

    Ubisoft hates Australasia for sure.

A notification ingame would've been nice. Haven't read anything about the maintanance and was playing a mission. No pop-up. Nothing. Just got thrown out and after 10 minutes of retrying, the mainmenu showed "The Ubisoft Services are currently in maintanance, please visit the forums"

Bloody hell, communication with your playerbase isn't your strong suit, Ubisoft.

Entirely correct. I have also been a tester since the beta and have seen all the complaints that arise each maintenance period.

But what is baffling to me is that in spite of all the complaints from players and suggestions of alternative times to schedule maintenance (move it back by 3 hours, anyone?), Ubi/Massive has remained quiet about the issue and continues to schedule future maintenance periods at the same time. It's confounding how a company can be so attentive to the playerbase in certain regards and then bury their heads in the sand at other times.

To be clear, this is more a statement at this point than it is a complaint, since we already know that complaints do nothing here. Oh well. My hope is that this type of maintenance stays on the cutting room floor and does not make it into the final game. I have worked as a systems engineer in the past (currently working as a software engineering project manager), and I have trouble coming up with a scenario that would require 3 hours of downtime on a consistent 24 hour basis. It may be time for Ubi/Massive to consider new server protocols.

I'm grateful for the beta. Loving the game and cannot wait for this and Ghost Recon. RS, GR, Division I'd choose over COD anyday. Thanks for giving us this chance to play the game before launch.
