Still needs more & patrolling enemies.

I spent quite a lot of time this morning simply walking around in the PvE area (something that I didn't do much of in the alpha and closed beta) - and I've already discovered several streets that I'll likely never visit again.
We have a good chunk of the final map right now and, if it stays this way, there's going to be no point in investigating most of the map - because there won't be anything to find other than the odd hidden collectible.

With other RPGs, this isn't so much of an issue. Say Fallout, for instance; there's random encounters, there's an interactive environment (you can literally pick things up and move them), enemies have a HUGE range of spawn points. There's a lot to do and there's numerous reasons to go anywhere.

With The Division, beyond the pop-up sidequests and missions, what purpose is the rest of the PvE area? This is going to wind up suffering the same fate as GTA's maps. It may seem like a lot of area to offer, but there's no reason to visit them because there's nothing to do there.

Most of the action will wind up centering around the DZ and the few, FIXED enemy spawn locations located there.
I hate to compare it to Destiny (because, in most ways, the beta has shown this game to be so much better), but the game needs enemies that move around (at least a little bit), that engage one another, that spawn MUCH more randomly.

This even applies to the DZ, assuming you're not tasking yourself with attacking everyone that you come across.

As it stands, I know exactly where to go in the DZ if I want the best loot drops (just NW of the parking garage extraction). I know exactly which subway entrance to go in if I want to find the enemies/loot quickly. I know exactly which city block spawns the dozen-ish enemies at what looks to have been a military checkpoint. I know exactly how many enemies are at the gas station and where they hang out. I know that, coming out of the NE safehouse, there's 3-4 enemies that spawn to the immediate left (if you come out the main door) and there's another 4-5 enemies that spawn across the street to the right in a little park.

And, if you've spent more than an hour in the DZ, you likely know these exact locations as well - because there's no reason to go anywhere else.
In my opinion, that's a problem.

    TL;DR:
Game will get repetitive if isn't varied by enemy spawns and movement, and is in need of more enemy AI to find in lieu of the semi-small Dark Zone player number per server.

I agree, we need more patrolling enemies and hopefully random encounters during the full release; I've combed every last area of the Overworld city and obtained every piece of intel, and every lootable container has been opened.

In many of these areas, there is literally no point to go there after you've looted them. We need more buildings that we can actually go in to, as well. There's a single, low-level boss that occasionally pops up in an alley, but that's literally it in terms of reasons to go there.

Same with the DZ, I understand it's a Beta, but things feel... Kind of lifeless. I literally just started wandering around, helping civilians for cosmetics after a while. Because, that is the only interesting thing to do.

Apparently they supposedly increased the number of NPC spawns. However from just watching the @TheDivisionGame stream I haven't seen any difference other than the new Mission that was available. Hopefully this will change with the upcoming maintenance this morning.

I couldn't agree more, even if they added a couple more NPC's, the AI is completely stupid! You can run straight past them! For ****s sake, make them at least spawn in the streets and patrol up and down them when players aren't close by. Make them good enough to force you to use the cover mechanics or else you quickly die. The NPC's feel so static and easy that they're pointless. Why kill NPC's when they are so easy when you can go on a lvl 5 manhunt and actually have a challenge... I got excited at the patch notes but after watching the XB1 beta streams i'm not satisfied.

Yeah, open world encounters and loot boxes are pretty repetitive.

Agreed, More encounters would be great as well as re-spawning in the Story mode of missions, such as hostage rescue, and those types. I do believe there is a happy medium, but I dont like the fact that you can put your controller down, and walk away in Story mode or even in dark zone pending on who runs past you and never get killed by an AI. I also hope all of us as players of this game dont take it to an extreme level of asking for enemies and it gets put in where there are a ton of enemy AI and it turns into a unwanted grind fest. I do hope the difficulty of the game is taken up a notch as well.

The only reason to grind out the streets that I've seen so far is to unlock the different areas of the tech/security/health wings of your base by finding all the intel. They SHOULD increase the amount of NPC encounters in the streets, and give them some variety.. I get bored shooting the same gang members again and again..

Wasn't the only increase in the darkzone...

PvE zone seemed to have to same number of spawns at static locations after you did the side mission encounters....

I saw no random patrolling in the DZ or PvE zones.. just same static locations...

Would be nice to have a dev comment on this.. is this what we are to expect in the release versions or not.

its only a beta. the full game has many more missions and more dark zone to explore.

Of COURSE the beta feels like there's not much in it. That's because its only a beta. it doesn't even have half the features of the game, like crafting.
