The pause menu has multiple instances of asking for player-feedback, so I figured I'd take a moment to oblige. Granted, it's still in an early stage, but I can't see myself picking this one up. Feel free to comment and voice your opinions/concerns, but my feedback is as follows:
1. Mandatory un-skippable tutorial on first launch taking 5 minutes to explain somewhat simplistic controls. With common sense, anyone could learn those controls manually within the first 5 minutes of actual gameplay.
2. DZ 01 and 02 are squad-coddlers, going in solo virtually guarentees your downfall; Time and time again. A squad of 3-4 friends aren't going to share objectives and rewards with a random. I would have preferred a little structure in the pVp department. It's essentially as chaotic as GTA Online but with a fraction of the room to maneuver.
3. AI enemies are mostly always huddled together and fairly predictable in movement and fire-pattern.
4. AI and player-enemies are bullet sponges, I can see myself growing tired of multiple reloads between a 2-man fight when we're both at point-blank range.
Overall, it just seems extremely repetitive and redundant on any sort of long-term scale. I am in no way trying to deter anyone from playing or buying this game; Just trying to open a logical and meaningful discussion. I can't be the only one who feels that the product doesn't match the hype at the moment.
I agree with you OP, one of the things I found most annoying was that if I was grouping with friends and I was the party leader only my quests were available. To make theirs available we had to break the group and regroup under different leader. This is the most archaic design ever. Game doesn't feel polished if things like this slip and are in no schedule to be added.
This game is $60 a pop and it really feels like the devs have not put a single iota in the fun department... I only got the game because someone got me a key on steam, I dunno if I would have put down $60 of my own moolah for it. We will see what happens.
re point 1, I lent my pad to two people in closed beta who didn't get the benefit of the intro video and they took a while to get used to the controls.
It needs to be in but should be skipable for sure. I've seen other games fold it into gameplay by offering it from an NPC which you could say no to. Something like that would be good.
I really don't get this 'hype' thing. I mean what hype? Mass media has nothing? No commercials, no adds. Where's this hype? Unless you go looking for content on The Division it's not in your face.
The content available is pretty balanced with some You tuber's liking and some not. The adds by UBI Massive don't really hype the game so much as showcase it IMO.Is the E13 release trailer the hype you are claiming the game doesn't live up to? That being said......except for #1 none of your points are my experience since Alpha. So I really can't have a logical or meaningful discussion about how bad this game is, quite frankly because.... well..... It isn'tIMO
So while you may not need or want the tutorial many games have them and they are there to insure the first time players are able to navigate the game. This seems more like you have beef with tutorials as a whole and should not be directed specifically at The Division.Originally Posted by ktw1131 Go to original post
Well drops from npcs in the DZ are individual so no other player can pick up and item that you can see. If a player is killed and drops it then it is free for all though. That addresses the "group wont share rewards with a random" issue.Originally Posted by ktw1131 Go to original post
And the game is meant to be played with a group of people. Whether that means you inviting your friends to a group and going around or making a group with random people you find, I dont believe it is too much to expect for players to hit the total of five buttons to create a squad.
Well this isnt a pure shooter, this is an rpg-type game where you are wielding guns instead of swords or bows or magic. So enemies being "sponges" should be expected. If you have an issue with that then perhaps adjust your expectations for the game.Originally Posted by ktw1131 Go to original post
Please keep in mind you are playing an open beta of the game, you speak of it being redundant but you dont even have access to a significant portion of the game. So of course running the same mission(s) over and over will feel boring and repetitive. When you approach talking about the long-term scale of a game I feel it is unfair to the game to judge that by a simple drop of what the game will offer.Originally Posted by ktw1131 Go to original post
Why didnt you just promote someone else to the leader of the group? You can do that via the group management menu.Originally Posted by AwfulCitizen Go to original post
Well it just might not be the game for you. There is nothing wrong with that and then it is a good thing you have such generous friends to give you a key for a $60 game.Originally Posted by AwfulCitizen Go to original post

I'm not deterring or trying to hinder anyone's opinion, nor am I trying to turn this thread into a "who likes it or not"-type scenario. I wouldn't mind seeing a reply critiquing my points with a solid counter-argument as others have done respectfully.
I have to agree with you...and after a little more thought, not sure if the OP actually even played the game but that's essentially irrelevant. Thankfully, not everyone likes the same thing or sees things the same way. I personally didn't even try the tutorial, didn't realize people still do, but thoroughly enjoyed the closed alpha/beta...and enjoyed 2 hours of the open beta before work this morning...at 4am.Originally Posted by Tannenhouser Go to original post

Don't put too much thought into something I addressed three or four comments up. The hype was entirely personal to me, I don't necessarily remember going on about the marketing or advertising. Only reason I'm posting is because feedback was recommended multiple times while pausing the game. If you had read the thread, those two points would have been moot from the start...and only adds to the "essentially irrelevant" aspect you speak of.Originally Posted by Jammer480 Go to original post
