Ugh, did anyone see this variant cover?

Not only does that "Kick me" prank seem very anachronistic, but incredibly immature for Evie. She was always the serious, traditional one, and her writing a giant "Kick me" on a statue would just ruin her character for me.

Agreed, that seems wildly out of character.

I could see Jacob doing that, depending on who the statue was of.

Now that would be far more in character.

Honestly that's how I intrepreted it. A deep, defeated sigh as she gazes into the sunset and contemplates what she ever did to deserve a twin like Jacob...

I guess that's one way to interpret it. When I first saw it, I saw it as Evie being proud of her handiwork judging by her body language.

Isn't painting kick me on a public statue a bit too childish even for Jacob? If so, then I dunno; just seems like a forced attempt to convey how different the twins are.

If not, then it could be the ancestor. Who knows, maybe he was a prankster when he came across the twins?

Got myself the Trials by Fire collection (first five issues of the Assassins comic series), and I have mixed feelings about it. The main issue is the pacing, like what happened in chapter one of the series should've been two chapters for example, because the way Charlotte joins the Assassins is so quick and eager that it felt jarring. Will take the next collection issue when it's out though to see where the series goes.

    Assassins #10.

Well, the Quila arc ended. Have to say, I'm glad to see the end of it honestly. It really didn't go anywhere interesting, and had very little impact on the modern day honestly - save for the password right at the very end! It appears the next arc involves Giovanni Borgia and Consus, so this may well end up giving us some more juicy Isu insights and perhaps some more Shroud action.

As for the modern day part, it was a nice to see Galina acknowledge Charlotte as part of the team. Her comment on Charlotte's hair did make me laugh! (I also share her view haha) Then with the final revelation about Erudito, and the now direct link between them and the Assassins. Hmm! This could get very interesting in the next five issues I think. Its certainly nice to see Erudito making a triumphant comeback - the Brotherhood could sure use their help right now.

I still hope Erudito won't become Initiates 2.0.^-^
