if you have the Nvidia 361.75 driver installed

you need to disable Nvidia shadow play or use the drivers from December 2015 like 361.43 if you must use shadow play

you can also install your drivers without Geforce experience and your games will work fine (thats what i did )

Nvidia confirmed its a bug and it will cause FarCry 4 and a few other games to crash

see this page on the Nvidia forums if you do not believe me

You can always open a ticket with support, as well. And, you can call them to check up on your ticket number. Keep it in mind, and welcome to the forums!

I just bought the game and I have the same issue. I "fixed" it by ending all MSI related processes and anything related to my motherboard or sound card. It's a bit extreme but it works. I would love to know a real solution.

close all backround applications before you launch your game

BACKROUND APPLICATIONS may also cause the game to not launch properly and you may need Exit out of them, or reconfigure them to work properly with Far Cry 4 known apps that can cause this are

    A. EVGA PRECISION
    B. MSI AFTERBURNER
    C. Riva Tuner Statistics Server
    D. DXtory
    E. Motionin Joy
    F. some Anti Virus or Firewall software (depends on settings..check your settings ! )
    G. MSI true Color
    H. Evolve gameing client
    I. AMD Raptr \ AMD Gaming Evolved
see this thred to possibly fix issies with afterburner causeing black screen
    http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...rcry-4-Crash!?

Please see this Page where it mentions Backround Applications and how you can try to see if one is possibly causeing your issiue with the game NOT starting or hanging
    https://support.ubi.com/en-US/FAQ/9/...0000000eio0CAA

also if you have an AMD Based Video card

the 15.11.1 beta drivers do not work with FarCry 4

also the most recent beta Driver 16.1.1 can also cause the game to crash on launch .. see the release notes for that Driver from AMD
see the release notes here http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-arti...ase-Notes.aspx

    Known Issues

    • [82387] A few game titles may fail to launch or crash if the Gaming Evolved overlay is enabled. A temporary workaround is to disable the AMD Gaming Evolved "In Game Overlay"
