And you should realize that realease a game which is not finished it's also not good for the reputation of a company. And it's why they should take their time to make a good game.Originally Posted by S.V. Go to original post
so, you think I would like to play an unfinished game?Originally Posted by SuperBiscotCOT Go to original post
Try again Man.
I mean, announce a game with it's real graphic engine and gameplay... take all the time to optimize... then launch on the market... and enjoy.
Personally, I think that's the best model. Quality / longevity over quantity.Originally Posted by SuperBiscotCOT Go to original post
I hope they take as long as they need and aren't rushed into a release because of financial/fiscal quarters or because of a fixed release date. Better to release when it's ready and fit the date based on the product as opposed to vice versa.
In an ideal world that would be perfect, but they just can't do it. They NEED to plan and ship a game for a specific release date at some point. Why? Think of all the logistics involved in actually having the game produced (physical copies, boxes, box art printed, collectors edition items commissioned and created, etc). They also need to reinforce the distribution servers for uPlay and the like for digital versions when AAA games are released so they don't crash and burn (as much) as they normally would otherwise.Originally Posted by S.V. There's a lot of preparation for a AAA game launch. Simply waiting until the devs believe it is finished and THEN doing all this prep work adds a delay to eventual release. They need to try and predict when they think the dev team will have the game ready and then launch on that date, or delay a few months.
That is great news. Ubisoft has been terrible with game support. GRAW2 support on PS3 was ZERO! GRFS was supported on all three systems for 6 months, then nothing. It got so bad that they took down the "number of players currently playing online" because it got so low.Originally Posted by SuperBiscotCOT Go to original post
