Trials Community Track Tournament (TCTT) Announcement

IMPORTANT UPDATE: This tournament is postponed to a later date. We have everything ready to go, however, due to the heavy amount of tournaments going on at this point in time (that is a good thing) I am saving this tournament for a later date.

The Community Track Tournament start date and end date: To be announced
    Theme: To be announced

Goal: Creating a track for the in game editor to both compete against other builders around the world, and to showcase your creations to other players, judges, and even to the developers of RedLynx. Excited? Information regarding the tournament is below, as well as more information to come. Stay tuned!

    Rules:

TCTT must be placed before the name of your track name submission. Example: TCTT Trials. By doing this, it will make it easier for the judges and players alike to find all of the tracks competing in the tournament.

    Trials Tracks only

    One entry per user

    No track teams

Difficulty: Beginner to Extreme ( No Ninja's)

Specific theme: To be announced very soon

Prizes: Note, actual content still to be determined and handled by Redlynx.

First Place: Platinum Redlynx Prize Pack
Second Place: Gold Redlynx Prize Pack
Third Place: Silver Redlynx Prize Pack

Time Frame: To be announced very soon.

Platforms that can compete: Xbox one, PS4, PC

A small issue I have is comparing Extreme to Easy tracks. For example, someone can make an excellent Extreme track, but make it very tricky to finish, on the other hand everyone will finish the Easy track, and as long as the theme and background are good (note, they don't have to be excellent) the track will be up-voted.

Basically, I'd like to know how you're going to differentiate judging Extreme and Easy tracks.

I hope this pans out, I've been itching to try my hand at a more focused track build.

If anything I'd wager that most of the community is partial towards hard/extreme tracks rather than easy tracks though. So if the judges come from the community, the sheer number of likes/upvotes should be irrelevant.

Hey HighOnSpeed. Regarding your question, there has been many tournaments on trials in the past with the same easy to extreme participation rating and I have never seen this question before and it is a good one. To answer that in a way, it first depends on getting judges that are willing to judge tracks fairly, since that is how the winners will be picked. There will be around 5 judges in total, some from the community, others from RedLynx.

Also, I tend to use a certain judging system when playing tracks: Game play (Drive line), Looks, and Creativity. For example, a pure extreme drive line that may have the best game play ever, will lose if another track that is a medium, that has awesome looks, game play, and creativity. Hope that clears things up a little bit.

EDIT: Still considering judges if anybody is still interested.

Thanks for clarifying that. Could you give a little more info on the theme? I'm asking since I'm currently working on a track that's really unique and creative (in my opinion), but I'm already about a 1/3 through making the track, altering the theme would be impossible, even at this point.

Glad that clarify's things. Regarding the theme, the reason why no theme is listed yet, is because if everybody knew the theme, people could start on their track before the start date. Once more people show interest in this competition then I can release the theme and start date. Then we can begin building.
