Perhaps the devs can play with that into the story where if you keep visiting the same village or camp to see the same doctor, word eventually gets to the cartels. A player can choose random doctors to avoid this scenario, but risks running into a doctor who is loyal to the enemy and would give you up, maybe keep you long enough for the cartel soldiers to come for you and your team..

No regenerative health!!! If you get hit then you or someone else will need to use a med-kit, but unlike other games it needs to take some time to apply - like 30 seconds or something to that affect. That way it forces you and the teammate to fall back to cover first like in a real combat situation. To make it even more realistic they need to make the amount of time depend on where you get it. For example: gut-shots being more critical thus more time consuming to bandage up than say a flesh wound to the forearm.

And as a bonus suggestion…there should be 3 outcomes of losing all your health.

    1) You go into last stand where you are able to use a sidearm to defend yourself and your teammates who are trying to bandage you up.
    2) After so much time in last stand (time depending on how critical your wounds are. see above.) without aid you lose consciousness. You can still be finished off by the enemy but you can also still be revived, but now it will take even more time.
    3) After so much time being unconscious without aid you bleed out. Then you are dead for good. No revive.

*Taking a head-shot automatically puts you in stage two.

I'm also a fan of the field hospital idea - that if you want to get fully healed you have to go to a local surgeon or something. Or maybe there is one at the safe house. In this case med-kits will not heal you completely, but will still get rid of all negative side-effects of wounds like tunnel vision and loss of character control.
