Regarding the Rogue agent timer. It can be done better in my opinion. Currently if you become a rogue agent you get a timer and every kill you get increases that timer until you are on a manhunt. The only way to survive as a rogue agent is to stop killing agents and wait out your rogue timer. I think it could be done better. For example, an idea is when you go rogue you get a small timer but during that timer you can kill as much as you want without increasing the timer. If you survive that timer you will get to collect your small bounty and if you go rogue again shortly after the last time you went rogue you will get a longer timer that you have to survive during. But again, during that timer you can kill as much as you want without increasing that specific timer. And again if you survive then you get to collect the larger bounty for having a little bit longer of a timer. And then if you go rogue again shortly thereafter you get an even longer timer with a larger bounty attached to it. And so on until you reach a manhunt bounty. The difference between this way and the current way is that killing once you're a rogue agent does not increase your current timer. But if you're constantly going rogue your timer will get longer each new time u go rogue until you spend some time not going rogue, which will allow your rogue timer to begin to shrink back down to the starting point of a shorter timer.
Just a thought. Feel free to build off of the idea. Im sure there are some ways to refine it even better. I just don't like having to run in order to survive as a rogue agent.
I agree, hiding to survival isn't they way. But I think a better option is that once you go rogue your rogue until your killed by another player. So what this means is once you've killed (5) agents the money you will get will accumulate 5 times over that lifespan. So for ever 10 minutes you earn 250 dz cash plus whatever you get from killing other agents and enemy AI. once you are killed you keep 10% of that money made and the killer keeps 25%. Ideally the remaining 65% would go towards money bonuses for top players with accuracy, headshot, kills, explosion ect...
I much prefer the way the rogue system currently works. It promotes going rogue for a time as well as killing other players a means to an end, achieving an immediate goal - and not as viable as constant playstyle or a license to act like a psychotic terrorist in the Dark Zone.
Once your rogue action has succeed in achieving the goal whether it was obtaining gear, aggressively defending, or eliminating a problematic player or group - continuing to kill other players over and over becomes more of a handicap working against your survival.
After reaching Rogue Rank 5, shooting at other players shouldn't restart the timer completely to 5 minutes. Maybe add 1 minute (if you get a kill), instead of a full cycle over again. Even pausing the timer while engaging, similarly to how it works when a player engages you. This would be a better solution imo.
But you'll only ever go rank 1 rogue. The rest of the ranks aren't worth the risk. Rank 1 rogue --> run for 80 seconds, rinse and repeat. I honestly believe the manhunt timer is very flawed at the moment. The timer should be 5 minutes and that's it.
Just imagine when we are all say DZ rank 60 with the weapons/armor etc we all be using then. You really think many people are going to be able to survive a manhunt in its current form?
And the DZ needs it's fair share of rogue agents for this game to survive otherwise it just becomes a PvE zone.
I think you're missing the point. No one wants a "care bear" system in place, however we also don't want a DZ which is in effect a PvE zone. It would kill the whole idea of what the DZ is about.Originally Posted by kabbies Go to original post
