Whats going to be the differnce between wildlands and division?

The division beta was to limited in scope to get a feel for the game in my opinion. I love the notion of rpg shooter. I noticed Wild lands and the division seem similar, with the limited information available.

Some of the game play mechanics may be similar, but there are differences that we know of. Where as The Division is all in NYC Wildlands will likely have more variety in locales. Also we know that Wildlands can be played solo and offline, which being as The Division is an MMO you will need an internet connection.

The fact that Wildlands is a open world shooter, and The Division is a RPG/shooter must be the main difference.

My personal experience with The Division alpha was not very positive. I went from abslolutely stunned, because of the beautyfull map design and graphics, to a feeling of.. This is boring and repetetive and one big grind.. But thats just me.

I hope we will see somewhat realistic gun-play in WL, and character/enemy damage. That combined with plenty of missions that can be done various ways will be very different.

Only similar thing I can find is the Tom Clancy name and Division shouldn't even have that.

I posted this on Reddit the other day, but it is just as relevant here, so I'm just going to post it again.

Between the post-apocalyptic streets of New York and the beautiful landscapes of Bolivia, players will be able to experience the Tom Clancy universe in amazing, yet diverse, ways. Both will have their own rich and immersive gameplay experiences that any Clancy fan will be thrilled to play.

The biggest difference in my mind will be the difference in genre. The Division is a Third Person Action RPG similar to Fallout, Mass Effect, etc... It's very focused on stats and abilities and such. It also has some MMORPG aspects to it such as the player social hub and Dark Zones.

Ghost Recon Wildlands is a Third Person Open World Shooter. Instead of shooting people and doing X amount of damage and watching a health bar drop, you shoot them and they die after a few rounds. Or a single headshot, or whatever. The difference here being that the damage model in Wildlands will be much more "realistic" than in The Division due to the difference in genre. Also, the world in Wildlands is much larger than what we see in The Division.

As Keeba just said, both games will provide fans with unique and amazing ways to experience the Tom Clancy universe.

Oh also, Wildlands has vehicles, including aircraft. Which makes it better. In every way. Totes. I like aircraft.

Visually, they are different settings Narco State Bolivia vs. Small Pox ridden New York. I haven't played the division primary because its only online and I can't whereas Wildlands can be played offline or online. Gameplay wise, the Division can be played with a team or as a solo operative while Wildlands is teamwork and tactically oriented. There is also the addition of aircraft, vehicles, and boats to use.

THE Division is an RPG 3rd person shooter.

GR: Wild land is open world 3rd person shooter.

The similarity is in the Tom Clancy IP (techno-thriller plotting and kit detail), and the 3rd person PoV shooting mechanics. Beyond that, from what little we have seen of GRW, it looks like the games differ.

The Division is an RPG with some shooter mechanics set within a limited Tom Clancy world (plausible tech and plot, but turned up to eleven).

GR:Wildlands (from what we have seen), looks like a strict 3rd Person Shooter (though how hardcore the shooting mechanics are is to be fully revealed) set within an open Tom Clancy world (plausible tech and plot, but turned up to eleven). At the moment we haven't seen or heard anything about any RPG elements within the game.

What's a true shooter?, I played the division beta, and for me it was ultimately all about the guns, I enjoyed the dark zone just that bit more and it is there that the intense self awareness to watch out for my own six going in solo and "shooting" was the greatest thing overall, being invited to tag along with others was fine and a change of pace.
