I really do hate speaker phones with a vengeance. When i do a run on a track with the sound on all i hear is the sound the checkpoint makes when you go past it, kshiiing. That´s all i hear, checkpoints going "kshing kshing khsing" and that gets annoying very fast. Since i also have a deep hate relationship with earbud phones, i just mute TF.
To me, playing TF with the sound off doesn't make a dent in my performance, and if I want the earphones in while I'm playing TF, it would be only just to listen to music, rather than the background sounds on TF, since there isn't a lot of music on TF, which is played in the menu, the bunker, the map and after a race is finished, which is quite boring. Normally on the other Trials games, like Trials HD, Evolution and Fusion, there is always music every time that you play a track, and the music overall is always at least quite good, and I'm used to hearing the bike as well, but on the other hand, there isn't any point to listen to TF imo. I have no problems with wearing earphones or hearing the 'kshiiing' noise or any other background noise, but I want to listen to music in a game and TF just has a lack of it so I just don't listen to it. Sometimes when I do want to hear the bike on TF on crucial tracks, I do put in earphones but just have the TF background sounds on but not the TF music or any music at all, only just to concentrate on a particular track.

Well just like flooodi and FatalDragon, you will get used to the Donkey in a short while, and then you'll be making Top 10 runs before you know it. I know it takes a while, but you yourself are a decent player, so it shouldn't take long to be fully accustomed to the Donkey, if flooodi and FatalDragon can be in the Top 100, so can you!

I thought you said you didn't have time to go through this thread and you looked through anyway! I'll check this other Donkey thread then, thanks!

Yeah, gaining ranks are getting harder. Just 2 million points could raise my rank to 53... and from there on, it's get much harder.

And yes, I have passed FatalDragon69
Top 100 times is a decent target to aim for, even on the tracks where there hasn't been 100 players on, and if you do that, at least you will be instantly in the Top 100! On some tracks, just trying to get a few points on some of the tracks is an absolute headache, due to the scoring system... And you will clear the hardest of the Hardcore tracks, Traction Testground, Widowmaker, Woodwork Conclave, (ughhhhh......) Metal Mayhem and Grease Transit, when you're ready to do so. Of course those five I gave as examples are actually my Top 5 hardest tracks w/ Donkey imo. And it won't be the higher ranks that will be harder to get to, it's also the points too, they will also be gradually harder to obtain, making it even harder to get to the Top 50 even.

I wonder if FatalDragon has noticed that you've passed him on the leaderboards?

Yeah it's a completely different style of riding altogether but like I said, stick with it and you'll soon see the light mate !!

I'm far from amazing on the Donkey but I like to think I'm better than average now, I just haven't been playing anywhere near as much as I used to or like to as I've been crazy busy working 12hr shifts 6days a week only getting home around 11pm-12midnight'ish, at which time I'm knackered and starving but I try to play whenever I can, hoping to be able to play more often again sometime soon though !!

    !! Anyway, Happy Riding.....Enjoy !!

    Nice one mate, Congrats !!

Like I said to ChemicalD above.....Hopefully I'll be able to play more often again sometime soon, as I've been slowly dropping on the Leader Boards since I haven't been able to put-in the time that's necessary to maintain my Ranks recently.

Yeah, I did notice that flooodi passed me a few days ago (Congrats again mate) but unfortunately I've been slowly dropping in Rank on both the Main Leader Board and the Donkey as well, simply because I've just not had the spare time to play anywhere near as much as I used to (I explain a little more about it above) but that's not to say that flooodi wouldn't have passed me anyway, even if I was playing like I used to as he's more of a seasoned player than me, so All the Best to him and his Donkey Career !!

Yeah, the HC tracks are pain to pass faultless and enough fast to gain ANY points at all. It doesn't help if i make it with 20 faults and 3min time = no LB points.
I only have passed TT and Grease Transit of those 5 hardest, and tried MM once. But I have issue with Sledridge Gorge, can't make the last jump at all, tried like 500 faults already...

Thanks for the Congrats mate! you can keep it up also, just focus one track at a time when you have some time for the donkey. Last night I "donkied" 3 tracks after wife went to nightshift just to gain one rank from 61th to 60th.
    Spoiler:  Show

Well, I'm almost within the same boat with you. But with exeption the looong workdays, my children and wife needs my attention after my work... So basicly I "donkey" at nightime also when I feel energized enough. Usually one or 2 times per week. Some exeptions ofcourse, sometimes I have time during childrens hobbies

Well, glad to see that people are complaining about the sound and not about the runs itself. 'cause the music is not the point here, it is highly optional
Anyway, music I make it is not the main stream, it is Eastern Europe regional, Balkans to be specific, so nobody expect that everybody will like it.
(like you can't expect that some reggae band has a great success on KKK party)
But, I'll pay attention of loudness and donkey sound. It is the plan to make some 30 seconds of trash metal sound (Pantera like) just didn't find time yet.

And now the Big Swing,...one more track where you need luck to put everything together. Especially the swing itself. You have to hit it when you lend on it in order to make it move forward. Otherwise the jump will be short. There is lot of different ways to do it, rear wheel, front wheel, front flip,... etc... but I did not find any technique for it, it is all random, and I decide what to do on-the-fly and you can imagine, the success rate is not great

(ps I'll add track list thread link to the first post - good idea, thanks)
(pps I didn't record my best run, but this one looks good and showing the route I believe is good)

    Nice ride!

This track has given me few times some gray hairs... hopefully it doesn't come again to my worst ranked list... :P
It's just because the 1st shortcut is annoying to make and then the swing is too random like you said!

Yea that number feels about right to me. A clean well rounded run usually lands me in the 50-100 rank. Kinda looks impressive but i think comparatively it´d be like ranking in the top 400-500 in the normal LB, which feels much less impressive. Still it feels nice to go in and play a track for 10-15min and get in the top 100, very ego-friendly

Thanks! Worry not about your rank, you´re clearly a highly efficient player and once you get MM and a little bit more time to play, you´ll be back up near the top 100.where you belong. cheers!

I know the feeling, did The Aqueduct today in while drinking coffee after dinner, 2 runs and got into rank70 from 680. Damn it felt good
I should have settled for that tho, because it took about 25minutes to improve more...now 39th.

Yeah, don't stress about it, it ruins the relaxing feeling to play. It will raise as you play...

A player who is better than average wouldn't be Top 100, so you are much better than being better than average. Very good indeed. I have to admit, 12 hour shifts are flipping brutal, no wonder why you can't get any time in! But when you do get more time in, you'll get those Ranks back and overtake flooodi in the progress!

Pretty much have to get a faultless time to get points, maybe with 1 fault or so, but it's a weird scoring system. Forgot about Sledridge Gorge, the last obstacle is an absolute pain, I'm not sure what to suggest, Lesorsier has a run on here somewhere with that track, so that might help you. Try to get as much distance as possible and then lean forward as soon as you hit the slope, if you're approaching it 1st time and you have already got the speed to hit the slope, so you might have a better chance of doing it 1st time.

It must have been quite hard to get a decent run in given the tricky obstacles, although I'm surprised that your original time is 18.3, no-one on Android has got it under 19 seconds w/Donkey! The 1st crucial obstacle at the 9 to 10 second mark, you need to have your front wheel in the air, so you can get more height, and the Big Swing itself, I'm not sure either but when you make contact with it, you fall off the big swing itself and making the jump short, as you said, meaning you have to do something else in order to make the Big swing useful, not too sure overall on what to do there, but you need to do something at least. And the success rate on that obstacle is actually very poor I would imagine, it's just tricky, I just wonder if it's meant to function like that or not. And yes, that's the best route. Clean, decent run, and shows what you have to do in order to get a decent time if you're lucky enough to do so, so fair play for making that run.

Top 100 target is decent, but it also depends on how competitive you are, like what Rank you feel you will be satisfied at given your skill rating and how comfortable you are with the Donkey. And it also depends on how far you want to go and how long you want to make this last, of course you can keep going and rising up the ranks, but it's up to the person and wherever they feel that they will be comfortable enough and if they will be up to the task. Flooodi as an example wants to get Top 100 times, and that's fine by him, he'd be satisfied by that, but what would he do next is also up to him as well, wherever he would do the HC tracks or hit Top 50 on each track, it's up to him and wherever he wants to make as much time as possible with the Donkey, again that's down to him. Not sure what your motive is here, and I know that everyone would have different goals here.

    Cheers everyone.
