The entire concept of the game is you play as an agent activated to restore order in the case of a catastrophic yet make the end game a KOS gank fest between the very people who are supposed to be restoring order.
I played for a good 2 hours in the darkzone and I can count on one hand the times me or my squad wasn't shot at on sight while there.
Don't get me wrong, PvP certainly has its place (as you don't want to lose out on that sub section of the player base) but by extension if you force players into PvP or gate PvE rewards behind it you are going to equally alienate the people who would rather take a pass having to interact with the "KOS hurrr durr, call of duty death match" people.
The potential for a great game is here and ultimately you can cater it to a broader audience if you don't force your playerbase into playing against the concept of the game that drew them in, in the first place.
There should have either been an area for only PVP, or toggle PVP for the players that want to go against harder AI. Idk, I don't like to be forced to PVP to get the best end game items. It's rather stupid.Originally Posted by LibertyInc Go to original post
Totally disagree. In an apocalyptic scenario, you should be on your toes and be weary of everyone you come across. Isnt that what PvP is all about? Tonight was the most fun ive had in a game, in PvP in a very ling time. 7 of us, all rogue worked together to defend off the rest of the Dark Zone players. Was an intense fight that lasted for a good 20-30 minutes. Even though we didn't get much loot, the fact that we were working together as a group, and we we cornered for majority of that time, and we all made it out alive.
Fun times, cant wait for release!

It'd be fine if this game was marketed as "Battlefield Hardline Cops vs. Robbers" only as Agents vs. Looters, but it wasn't. If I wanted another KOS survival game there is already a flooded market of knockoffs and clones. (I guess I can see it appealing to the console crowd as they don't have the glut that PC users have)
Ultimately, lack of choice = reduced player numbers. Reduced player numbers means less income. And at this point, why not cater to both crowds? What does it hurt the PvP community that people who don't want to PVP don't have to.
Thank you for being the personification of why myself (and others) don't want to deal with the 12 year old "Hurrr durr, shoot anything that moves" crowd.Originally Posted by Xdcmadmax Go to original post
i didnt find this problem really i went solo the whole day and sure there were pkers but there were more friendly players then people who shot on site or tried to kill people at extrations sites and when they turned all friendly guys turned on themOriginally Posted by LibertyInc Go to original post
It is great that people can have experiences like that, but for every person who finds an instance where people are working together, there will be another who is soured and turned off because you have groups of 4 to 8 players working together to just kill everyone on sight. If you've ever played any of these survival style games before, you will know that after that first bit of "New Shine" wears off it is pretty much all KOS all the time.Originally Posted by Pyroo4ever Go to original post
To be honest I didn't encounter many rogues and we'll encounter less when the game is out and people want to gain stuff. If you die as a rogue, you lose a buttload of Darkzone currency which is gold dust. The risk outweighs the rewards especially at the higher rogue ranks.Originally Posted by LibertyInc Go to original post
