I have been thinking about the back story of the game a lot and how it parallels the world today. Then I saw the new live action videos and started thinking about my own choices if something like this came along. How would I protect my family and what would we do to survive. This started me thinking about my character and what kind of choices would I make and how would I play to help my team. How did this all start for my character? What kind of job does he have? What skills does he bring to the team? What is his home life like - kids, wife, etc. As the game is an RPG as well I am looking at how to build a life and story for my character. I have played a lot of games, but this is the first that I feel really gives people a chance to explore who they are. How much of ourselves do we want to put into these characters so we can feel as if we are living the game and not just playing it. The possibility to get deeply ingrained in the game is staggering. But the possibility to discover our own moral characters and codes is intriguing to me. And I would very much like to hear what others feel about the possibilities the game offers us as players.
Edit: My character is going to be a security specialist who was brought into the SHD when he was instrumental in saving the life of a diplomat during a conference he was working at. He has a wife and 3 kids who mean the world to him and his whole focus is to make the city safe again so they can all return home to Ontario where they are from. His wife and kids are trapped in the city and his team is going into rescue them and help get the city back.
I always enjoy the creative options presented in RPGs and typically always layout a real character.
My main character is in her final year of medical school at the time of the outbreak. She was recruited into SHD early (subject to change if we ever find out how agents are chosen) in her pre-med years, completed her training and continued to pursue medical schooling to support her role as an agent should it be required. Since she has no immediate family in NYC, she didn't have to face a choice about how to protect them. Personality-wise, she wants to help people and motivated to get society going again. She'll likely never go rogue.
In-game: she'll be a healer/support with most likely a mid to longer range assault rifle. In missions with difficult choices, she'll be swayed toward what helps the person, her crew or society.
With what I got thus far, I can't make it my own. It's a bit of a stretch if my cook of a sleeper agent just flew out of Miramar in San Diego to go help NYC. Guess it's time for him to remind himself what being a S.E.A.L. is. Too bad he left his his guitar and the sunshine behind. hehe.
Also, why is it that the first wave of Division agents got wiped? Hmm. How many people we talking about?
What happened with the helicopter crash I so ungracefully got to participate in with one-eye ? She complains about her leg but it's her going blind I'm concerned about. How is Faye even allowed to walk/function/type on a computer with her throbbing leg and her bandaged eye? That complaining doctor you save should be working on Faye than anything else. Sure she's a virologist, but at the very least she has SOME medical skills and not just chemistry skills...
Why DID our helicopter go down to begin with? Who saved "us" (Faye and player) ? Oh, so many things!
A good story makes a game even better when the game functionality/mechanics are polished. My first thought was the game's main storyline does remind me of the storyline from the show The Last Ship which also deals with a pandemic and the search for a cure. I'm planning to use the National Guard gear and the NYPD gear so I'll probably go with the full-time cop/National Guard reservist background.
Bear with me, as I took some liberties with the Division's organizational structure and some the events. As we learn more from the game, I will likely edit to reflect that.
My agent served in the US Air Force as a pararescue man. He left the service after 8 years to pursue a career in the intelligence community. After several unsuccessful attempts to get noticed by the CIA's Special Activities Division, he was recruited into the SHD and assigned to Southeastern Command, Section 505 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
New Orleans quickly deteriorated and was completely abandoned, with most of the SHD agents there being reassigned to neighboring cities like Baton Rouge, Shreveport, and Dallas, Texas. When Northeast Command reported that the SHD first wave was incapacitated, the remnants of Section 505 (barely 10 agents) was transported to New York as part of the second wave.
In MANY games to be an RPGFPS such as Destiny, Borderlands and such. There is always the lack of Fun/entertaining Bosses. In most of these games its usually "Hit this critical spot and kill the boss" "Hit the crit spot and arm blows off, kill all the arms and boss is dead". In ALL destiny bosses there are adds/mobs to kill. Generally because of their fail in players wasting to much ammo during the encounters. In the Division I pray that this will never be the case. I really want to see boss mechanics, where players actually have to think in order to kill a raid boss. For instance. The first "dungeon" in Madison square garden the end boss has a lot of health and there are mobs running at you. Why not have players stand on different color squares in order to have the bosses shields fall off to do damage to the boss. If the boss is red players must reach the red square in order to drop the bosses shields to kill him. No adds required. OR players must hit a button in sequence in order for the boss to come out of cover. I want to see actual boss mechanics! So I am posting here to see if any of you have any great ideas for a raid boss encounter. That requires at least 8 players to down him/her. And if you agree with what I am saying.!!
I can't tell if you're joking or not. All of your ideas are terrible, but I'd kind of like to see them in game.Originally Posted by Qu4cKLES Go to original post

Overall the game is great, my congratulations to the developers, however; for missions should be given the option to transport missions not traversed the map walk .. or if I had the chance to drive would be easier .. I appreciate the time and space that had
