gaming headset, 7.1 headset, and so on are consumerism products, not high quaility products. Products that says many things, have theorically many features, and even many drivers, but dont have the quality they are supposed to have.

They have success, of course, just read this posts, and see many people speaking about them, and saying they are so great and bla bla bla, people that dont know what high quality is, yes, they are clueless, and 7.1 surround sound gaming ultra quality mega headset are made for them.
I love it how every body is now an expert on headphones,
just google the headphones you are interested in and view the comments about said headphones if they are all positive then go for it

This is the game dude I had Xbox one turtle beaches and thought it was the headphones then I got the most expensive ones and the sound is still messed up. People will run past your left and you will hear it on your right, and people will be above you but it will sound like they are above

I use the Turtle beach ear force stealth 500's, foot step directions seem very accurate.

I've had a LOT over the years. Started when Turtle Beach was just coming to the 360.

I'm now on pair #2 for the XB1. I started with the TB XOFour. For the money, they weren't bad. Right now at Best Buy, they are on sale too. They weren't Bad. However, I still desired more. Why though? Before I upgraded consoles, I had purchased a refirb set of TB something or other from Woot.com. These were not the pair you charge on a dock..the ones right below it. Retailed for I wanna say $170.

I did a ton of research before my most recent purchase of the Turtle Beach XO 420 Stealths. These are really nice. Wireless from the controller to the cans, well built, good enough sound for me (not 7.1 but it's dang good, especially for RS6). I about pulled the trigger on the Astro A40s or even the A50s. Price point was also a factor for me. I'm 37 years old. I have bills to pay. I was able to get these because I had a gift card to help with the cost. Had money not been an issue, I would have jumped at the $300 TBs or the A50s.

    1. Budget
    2. Goals for Headset
    3. If you have a Bix Box store like Best Buy near you, go. They have them all up for you to hear and try on nowadays.

PS yeah I have a low post count, I lurk in lieu of logging in most days. Spend more time on car enthusiast forums bc I'm a big gearhead.

After reading this thread I'm gonna get the hyperx headset myself. I have never in my life used a headset and I am quite good so I think with a headset I can go next level lol

    Turtlebeach XO Seven

I picked up one set of like $80 wired turtle beaches, and frequently had issues with them. Things like them not working when I turned on the xbox - not showing as connected and needing to rejoin party chats/restart xbox etc. Within the first month I returned them and paid the difference for the XO Seven turtle beaches. They're great in a lot of ways. They connect with a wire to the controller, so you don't have to charge them. The sound quality is awesome, though my only previous experience has been the headset that comes with the console. And best of all you can adjust the volume split between game volume and chat volume, so you can tune out people chatting and focus on in game audio cues like enemies rappelling outside or running around etc.

My only issue - which I'd love to find a solution for if anyone knows it - is that sometimes, on Siege at least, when I try to turn the chat volume all the way down to only hear game audio it doesn't always work. I'm not sure if it's the game, controller, headset, xbox, or what, but occasionally I'll try to turn it 100% to game audio to drown out chatting teammates and the chat volume doesn't adjust at all. If anyone else has this issue with XO Seven turtle beaches, or if you know the problem and/or solution, please lemme know. I haven't found a way to contact support for turtle beach products, they only seem to have FAQ's etc.

Yes, those ones sounded quite interesting actually, I was fairly close to picking those up, but Now the Turtle Beach Headset Audio Controller Plus appears to have become available again i've decided to get that rather than buy something totally new.

Will use them with my TB X12's. luckily for me i actually bought the X12 as a gift for my brother a few years back, they have hardly been used so they lasted this long (will probably fail on me now tho) but he's been looking to use them again on his XB1 and PS4 but without a mic he's not to keen.

    So,

If i dont like the X12 with the Headset Controller i will mostly end up giving him the headset and then go out and get my self something, there's plenty of suggestions on here so its a good reference place now and with ppl actually commenting on what they have it's even better.
