    Current setup:

    AMD XP 3000+
Radeon 9800Pro (Cat 4.9 beta drivers)
    1 gig Ram (2x512 PC 2700)
    160 gig HD
    17" Dell E770s monitor

I'm running this monitor at 1024x768 with a refresh rate of 85hz (max). Any higher rez and I lose refresh rate.

I plan on upgrading in the future to at least a 19" monitor. Nothing really fancy, just bigger and with an acceptable RR. I also plan on picking up TrackIR at some point.

Wondering what your opinions are on which upgrade would you do first? Or, if you have a 19+" monitor and TrackIR, which one would you give up if you had to?

Quite frankly, I'd suggest you get an even bigger monitor. 21 inch would be good. I found upping my refresh rate to 100 Hz really helped my frame rate. Even so, I would be torn by having to decide between the two. I'd look at it this way; Track IR 3 Pro just came out and will certainly not go up in price from here. To take full advantage of it, you'll need the new monitor anyways, so I'd go with the monitor.

Now with an actual index & more fiber! It is newer & and even more improved! It's Luckyboy's Guide For Complete Users!...

TrackIR first.. then Monitor when you get more money... or just get both if you can afford

I agree with RAAF_Edin and LuckyBoy1. Get the Tracker first then the monitor. But I'd get the TIR 3 not the Pro, that will save a small bit of money for ya. And if you can, I'd suggest getting the hat too.

At least with the Tracker you can look around as you would in "real life" and not have to use the hatswitch. Makes flying much easier and more enjoyable too.

    I vote for GT182 - very diplomatic

I would go for the TIR, adds far more immersion. Besides, if 17" is good enough for me..........

There's no doubt a bigger (quality) monitor is really nice, but I agree with B16Enk...I'd get the TIR first and get used to it. You might want to leap-frog the 19" later on and just get the 21 incher.

B16Enk, I'm not trying to be diplomatic as both suggestions are good by RAAF_Edin and LuckyBoy1.

It's just figuring out priorities that can make it difficult to decide. I'm using a 17 inch CRT but I figured being able to look around in the cockpit and outside was more important for now.

When I get my new pc built I'll go with a 27 inch TV looked up by s-video for awhile. At least until I can afford a 21 inch monitor, either CRT or LCD. At least with a GeFx5600Ultra 256mb card I can use the tv.
